Chisato Shinya, an illustrator based in Sapporo is broadening her active field not only in Japan but world wide. She held her first exhibition, "Visible shapes/Invisible shapes" at Soso cafe in October, 2002. She created graphics taking nature and animals as a motif under the theme of visible shapes and invisible shapes. The works exhibited at Soso attracted a great deal of attention. Following the great success of this exhibition, she was invited to an Japanese art exhibition, "GIGEI" in Singapore in August, 2003, then in October, she contributed some illustrations to "Grimm-the Illustrated Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm" published by Die Gestalten Verlag. Her illustrations were used for "LittleSnow-White" in this book. She is one of the best artist who attracts our attention recently.

GRIMM: LITTLE SNOW WHITE

The theme for her second exhibition at Soso is "Imagine Story". Removing words from the story which she has kept in her mind so far, she creates a picture book only with illustrations. It enables you to be a storyteller and imagine your own story.

GRIMM: LITTLE SNOW WHITE

A newly drawn large size picture book and the original pictures for Grimm published by Die Gestalten will be exhibited. The venue is covered with her installation. Moreover, posters and limited edition package of T-shirts and post cards will be sold during exhibition.
