Xenix is a movietheatre and a bar located in district 4 of Zurich. It all started around 30 years ago. Xenix was part of the AJZ (Autonomes Jugendzentrum), part of the youth Swiss movement from the 80’sゼニックスはチューリッヒの第４地区にある映画館とバーが併設された施設。30年前に設立されたこの施設は、AJZ（自立青少年センター）と80年代のスイスの若者による活動の一部であり、1984年以降同じ場所で運営されている。
ゼニックスの白い空間に、カラフルなボトルが映えるバーでは、そこに集まる素敵な人々といつでも楽しむことができる。そしてすぐ隣には映画館がある。
ゼニックスを支えるチームは、映画館のプログラムを担当しているルネ・モーザーとレト・ビューラー、経営はエリック・スタブ、そしてバーの責任者のロジャー・カリクステインだ。
映画館で１日に３本から５本上映される月替わりのプログラムは、主題や国ごと、または役者や監督など特定のテーマに沿った作品となっている。
「古い作品に新しい観点を与える様な作品や、スイスの人達が観る機会がない様な作品を上映したいのです。ゼニックスは作品を再発見する場所です。新しい映画も古い映画もね。」チームのメンバー、センタ・バン・デ・ウィタリングはこう語る。
バーではおいしいタパスとアルコール、ノン・アルコールどちらも揃ったスペシャルなドリンクを飲むことができる。さわやかなルバーブ・スプリッツァーや美味しいスイスビールも忘れずに。映画の後に素敵な雰囲気のバーで食事をする定番のコースをぜひ体験し、魅惑的なゼニックスで楽しいひとときを。

Fenix is a very white place, with a great bar with many colorful bottles. You can sit at the bar itself or in a table, to contemplate the nice people which is usually there, at all hours. Right beside the bar you will find the cinema.
The team behind Xenix are: René Moser and Reto Bühler (responsible of the movietheatre programme), Eric Staub (manager) and Roger Kalikstein (head of the bar).
The Cinema shows three to five films daily. Programs are dedicated to a subject, a country, or are retrospectives based in one person’s work (could be an actor or a director). The Program subject changes monthly.
“We want to show films in contexts that give a new perspective to old films and to show films that otherwise have no chance to be shown to a Swiss audience. The Xenix is a place to rediscover films new ones and old ones” – explains Senta van de Weetering, another member of the team.
The bar offers delicious tapas and very special drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Don’t miss the Rhabarber-Schorle, very refreshing, or pick one of the great Swiss beers they have. Xenix is an enchanting place. Take note: it is essential to experience the Xenix combo, after the movie, don’t miss the opportunity of having a bite at the nice atmosphere of the bar.
