When you spot someone wearing a startling pair of 80’s boots in Zurich, chances are that it came from Lux Plus, a second hand store extraordinaire in the young and upcoming areaチューリッヒでびっくりするような80年代ブーツを履いている人を見かけたら、それはルックス・プラスのものに間違いない。ルックス・プラスとは、今流行の若者のエリアにあるセカンドハンドショップのことである。そのストリートのショップウィンドウで、カラフルで上品な形をしたブーツやバッグを目にするだろう。店のインテリアは基本的には意外とシンプルだが、レジの木製のディスプレイ棚や、バーゼルに拠点を置くイラストレーターのサシャ・コーラーによる店内奥の壁のサインが、存在感を示している。
スイスのファッション雑誌“ボレロ”でかつてジャーナリストをしていたビート・クレンガ‐は、チューリッヒの洗練されたビンテージファッションを支えた人物である。彼のファッションに対する鋭い視点は、ファッションにうるさい人々をも国境を越えて魅了している。かつて、二人の英語圏の顧客が、最終的に3000スイスフラン相当の服やアクセサリーを購入したという話もある。そのうちの一人が、モデルやハリウッドセレブと仕事をしているアバンギャルドなスタイリストであるヴェネチア・スコットだったということが、のちに判明した。“おためし”での購入ではあったが、そのショップが世界をリードするスタイリストを引き付けたことは間違いないのである。
質の良いビンテージを見つけるのは難しく、最近では高価になってきている。しかしルックス・プラスでは、手の届く価格で質の良いものを簡単に見つけることができる。オーナーが、パリに頻繁に出向き、ほとんどの服やアクセサリーの買い付けを行なっている。ここでは、ゴージャスな70年代から80年代のブーツを、たったの80～150スイスフランで手に入れることができる。そのほかバッグ（19～120スイスフラン）、ハイヒール（50～100スイスフラン）、メンズのレザージャケット（100～130スイスフラン）なども人気である。50年代のバリーのハイヒールやイヴサンローランのブラウス、セリーヌのスカーフのようなレアアイテムは、特にファッションに興味のある若者やおしゃれな大人たちなどに愛されている。他の店では見つけることができないような掘り出し物を見つけてみてください。

From the street, you see colorful and elegantly shaped boots and bags in the store window. The interior of the store is rather simple except the wooden display case at the cashier and the signature wall in the back of the store by Basel-based illustrator Sacha Kohler.
Beat Krenger, a former journalist for Swiss fashion magazine “Bolero”, is the man behind the refined vintage fashion scene in Zurich. His ultimate eye for style attracts fashion savvy customers across borders. Once, two English-speaking customers ended up purchasing 3,000CHF worth of clothing and accessories. It turned out that one of them was Venetia Scott, avant-garde stylist for models and Hollywood celebrities. The massive purchase was “just for trying”, but the store surely must have inspired the world’s leading stylist.
Good vintage items are hard to find and are too expensive these days, but Lux Plus makes it easy with its affordable price and fine selection. The owner collects most clothing and accessories on his frequent trips to Paris. Here, you find gorgeous pairs of 70’s and 80’s boots for just 80~150CHF. Bags (19-120 CHF), high heels (50-100CHF) and men’s leather jackets (100-130CHF) are also popular. Rare items such as 50’s high heels from Bally, Yves Saint Laurent blouses and Celine scarves are beloved by young hipsters and elderly dames alike. Enjoy stumbling on a great find you can’t get in any other stores.
