川村秀雄Hideo Kawamura
様々な分野で活躍を成している「カワムラ ヒデオ アクティビティ」。その設立者であり、デザイナーの川村秀雄氏のデザインは平面とは限らない。“Kawamura Hideo Activity” participates actively in various fields. The work of Hideo Kawamura, the designer/founder of “Kawamura Hideo Activity” is not always plane.1997年に独立後、デザイン・カンパニー「カワムラ ヒデオ アクティビティ」を設立。また2005年にはプロダクト・デザインレーベル「Rezon®」を立ち上げ、ファーストプロダクト「ONOFF」が2006年度グッドデザイン賞を受賞する。「人と人との繋がり」、「礼と尊敬の念」、そして「愛」。彼の考える思想は手掛ける作品に温かみを与え、人々の心を捉えている。今回はニュータイプクリエイターと呼ばれる、「カワムラ ヒデオアクティビティ」の核の人物、川村秀雄氏にお話を伺う事が出来た。
はじめに「カワムラ ヒデオ アクティビィティ」（以下：KHA）設立の経緯と仕事内容について、またプロダクトデザインレーベル「Rezon®」についても教えてください。
タナカノリユキアクティビィティを経て、「カワムラ ヒデオ アクティビティ」として独立しました。仕事はグラフィックデザインを主体にプロダクツ、空間演出、映像など幅広く自由にやっています。
また「Rezon」は、僕ら（KHA）のデザインやアイデアを自由に表現できるように作ったデザインレーベルです。読みは「レゾン」。漢字で書くと「礼尊」。
KHAの理念でもある「枠に囚われず、ボーダレスに活動する」という事は、色々な人との関わり無しでは成り得ません。何時も人と人との繋がり、「礼と尊敬の念」忘れないでいようという意味合いを込めました。
今後も、インテリア、ファニチャー、カトラリー、ステーショナリー、グラフィックなどジャンルを越えて様々なデザインを発信していきます。

ショップや美術館、映画館などをデザインパトロールしています。

「岡本太郎」のアトリエが記念館になっています。
庭のカフェの雰囲気も良いです。

近所なので良く利用させてもらってます。
全席指定なので、ゆっくり映画を見たい人などには良いですよ。

「タスヤード」でお茶を飲んでいます。
カレーが本当に美味しい！大きなジャガイモが入っています。
こじんまりと静かなので読書とかゆっくりするのにもってこいです。
「YAO」
大きなソファーがあったりしてリラックスできます。
夜も雰囲気が良いので飲みに行くのも良いと思います。
「北青山サロン」
日本とは思えない空間です。
お店の中は暗くソファーや椅子もアンティークで、もの凄くカッコいいです。
水タバコなどもある、もの凄く雰囲気の良いバーです。

http://www.kha.jp/rezon/ After his independence from “Tanak Noriyuki Activity” in 1977, Hideo Kawamura founded the design company “Kawamura Hideo Activity.” He also established a product design label “Rezon®” in 2005, and received 2006 Good Design Award with their first product “ONOFF”. His ideologies such as “the connection between humans,” “a sense of courtesy and respect”, and “love” give the warmth to his products, and exert a powerful hold on many people. I got a great chance to interview Hideo Kawamura, the core person of “Kawamura Hideo Activity,” who is a new-type creator.
First of all, please tell me the detail of Kawamura Hideo Activity (KHA) and their jobs.
After I worked for Tanaka Noriyuki Activity, I set up in Kawamura Hideo Activity on my own. Our jobs are mainly graphic designs, but also we work wide range including products, space direction, and motion pictures.
Please tell me about the product design label “Rezon®.”
“Rezon®” is the design label we created to express our designs and ideas freely. You can read it as re·zo·n. In Chinese symbols, it means “courtesy and respect.” The idea of KHA: “don’t be stereotyped and work borderless” does not work out without a communication with various people. The name “Rezon” has a shade of meaning which we should not forget the connection between people and a sense of courtesy and respect. We keep producing various designs such as interior, furniture, cutlery, stationary, and graphics.
Please tell me some of stores you done the interior design and display for.
Odakyu-line’s new logo, decor of the stations, Science Museum “Kitanomaru Cycle” exhibition area’s interior, TSUTAYA midtown’s display, and CowParade TOKYO Marunouchi 2008, etc.
How do you spend your private time?
I go on patrol some shops, museums and movie theaters seeking good design.
Taro Okamoto Museum
The Memorial Museum is used to be an atelier of Taro Okamoto.
The cafe at the garden have a nice atmosphere.

I often visit these places in my neighborhood.
Great theaters with reserved-seats for those who want to watch movies relax.
Please tell us a favourite place in the city you live and work in.
I enjoy having tea at Tas Yard.
The curry served with big potatos is amazing!

A relax place to be seated in a big couch. Having a nice atmosphere at night as well, you can enjoy going for a drink here.

This space is somewhere else: doesn’t seem like to be in Japan.
Amazingly cool place with antique furniture under the dark light.
You can enjoy hookahs.
