浅草の地に江戸時代に建てられ、震災と戦災、近年の都市開発をくぐりぬけた材木問屋の土蔵を、アーティストたちが再生したアート・スペース。カフェとバーを併設して1997年にオープンしたThis is an art space of which artists renovated the old warehouse, which was built in Asakusa in 1868 and miraculously survived from huge earthquake, World War ll and recent urban development. It was opened with cafe and bar in 1997.。歴史の証人としての役割を建物が担う一方で、そこに集い、新たな流れを創り出すのは「人」が担う役割。
ジャンル、国籍を問わず美術展、演奏会、パフォーマンスなど、空間の特異性に頼らない表現を模索しながら、表現者とギャラリーが共同で企画を創りあげるスタイルで様々なイベントを開催している。
