We all know how attractive can be interior design in Scandinavia. Several local brands have acquired great reputation worldwide. さて、モダンでミニマルなスカンジナビアンデザインの代表格ともいえるスウェーデンブランドのインテリアショップ、「スヴェンスク・テン」を紹介しよう。スヴェンスク・テンは、1924年に、デザイナー・美術教師であったエストリッド・エリクソン（1894-1981）によって創設されたスウェーデンでも老舗のインテリアブランド。クラシカルなパターンや鮮やかな色を組み合わせた、美しいファブリックやウォールペーパーなどを展開している。1934年には、生まれ故郷のオーストリアからスウェーデンに移り、建築家・デザイナーとして活躍していたヨーゼフ・フランクと共に生涯にわたってのコラボレーションをスタート。
エストリッド・エリクソンの芸術的才能と起業家としてのセンス、ヨーゼフ・フランクの時代を超越した素晴らしいデザインによって、二人は共にスヴェンスク・テンのデザインコンセプトのベースを築き、すぐさまブランドを成功へと導いた。その後、キェル&マータ・ベイヤー ファウンデーションが、スヴェンスク・テンのオーナーとなる。
ショップは、1927年の店舗設立当初から変わらずビーチ通りという意味をもつ、ストックホルムの高級住宅街ストランドヴェーゲンに位置する。目の前に水辺が広がる美しい通りは、博物館や美術館、遊園地のあるユールゴールデン島とストックホルムの市街地を結ぶ、春から秋にかけてとても大勢の人でにぎわうエリアだ。
もし、ストックホルムで魅力的な一日を過ごしたいなら、まずはストックホルムの老舗デパート、ノーディスカ・コンパニー（通称NK）の周辺でショッピング。それからストランドヴェーゲンまでの散歩を楽しみながら、スヴェンスク・テンを通ってボートにのってユールゴーデンへのコースがオススメ。クリスマスシーズンを迎えると、辺りは伝統的なデコレーションで装飾されてとても華やいでいる。
それから、スヴェスク・テンの２階にある、キュートなカフェ、ザ・ティー・サロンもお見逃しなく。紅茶やコーヒー、地元のパティスリーが食べれる居心地の良い空間の中で、のんびりおしゃべりを楽しみながら、スウェーデン流のティータイム「フィーカ」を過ごすことができるスポットだ。

However, the Swedish design and interior decoration firm Svenskt Tenn shakes the topic about Scandinavian modernism and minimalism.
Beautiful fabrics and wallpapers introducing color combinations and patterns that today are classics. Founded in 1924 by designer and drawing teacher Estrid Ericson (1894-1981), this is arguably the most important Swedish interior decoration brand. In 1934, Ericson began her lifelong collaboration with Josef Frank, already a well-known architect, urban planner and designer, who had recently left Austria to take up residence in Sweden. Together, the two laid the foundations for the interior design philosophy that Svenskt Tenn has since come to represent, combining Estrid Ericson’s artistic talent and entrepreneurial spirit with Josef Frank’s inspired and timeless designs to form what was soon to become a highly successful concept. The Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation own Svenskt Tenn.
The store has been located at the same address, Strandvägen 5, in Stockholm since 1927. Strandvägen means The Beach Avenue. This is a beautiful avenue in front of the water, which from springtime to autumn becomes one of the most popular areas in town to have a stroll due to this avenue connects the city center with the island of Djurgården. This island is where the Royal Park and several important museums are located. So, an attractive day out could start shopping in town, around NK, get a stroll in front the boats by Strandvägen, passing by Svenskt Tenn in your way to Djurgården. Also during Christmas time, to pay a visit it is a must, so at this time of the year, one can be very up for this classic decoration and details made in Sweden.
In addition, you can enjoy The Tea Saloon, a cute Swedish café in the second floor of the store. Now you don’t have any excuse to miss a proper Swedish fika experience: tea or coffee and local pastry in a cozy and stylish environment.
