In the depths of the Royal park of Djurgården, Thielska Galleriet comes forth this beautiful gallery. This was home and gallery of Ernest Thiel, a house banker and the art patronユールゴーデンのロイヤル・パークを奥深く進むと、美しい美術館、ティールスカ・ギャラリーが姿を現す。このギャラリーは、下院銀行員であり、アートパトロンでもあったアーネスト・ティールの自宅兼ギャラリーだった。この建物は、フェルディナンド・ボバーグによって、ティールの素晴らしいアートコレクションの為にデザインされ、1907年に完成した。
２階建てで、下の階の部屋は企画展の為の部屋であり、ここでは写真家のアラーキーの展示が開催されたこともある。上の階は、絵画の常設展示室になっている。これは、19世紀後半から20世紀のウジェーヌ・ヤンソン、カール・ラーション、ブルーノ・リリエフォッシュ、エドヴァルド・ムンク、アウグスト・ストリンドベリやアンデシュ・ソーン等の時代を牽引するアーティストの作品のユニークなコレクションになっている。
タワールームは、間違いなくギャラリーの心臓部と言ってもいいだろう。いや、魂と呼ぶべきかもしれない。そこには、ニーチェのデスマスクやエドヴァルド・ムンクのプリントもある。ティールスカに来れば、その日一日が楽しい日になることは確実だ。それは、ロイヤル・パークの自然や居心地の良いギャラリー、庭、そしてカフェがあるからという事もある。シティーセンターから直通の69番のバスに乗れば簡単に行くことができる。

Translation: Kazama Yoko. The building was designed by Ferdinand Boberg specifically to Ernest Thiel’s magnificent art collection and was completed in 1907.
There are two floors; the rooms downstairs are for curated exhibitions where the gallery hosted work from the likes of Araki; upstairs it is a permanent collection of paintings. This is a unique collection of works of art from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries by leading artists of the period including Eugène Jansson, Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors, Edvard Munch, August Strindberg and Anders Zorn.
The tower room is surely the heart of the gallery – or perhaps its soul – containing Nietzsche’s death mask and prints by Edvard Munch. Certainly, visiting Thielska is an interesting day out due to the nature of the Royal Park and the cozy feeling of the gallery, its gardens and the café. An easy way to go there is to take bus number 69 in the city center, which will bring you directly to the door.
