Stockholm is a city constantly making efforts to offer a succulent and updated cultural landscape. In some capitals is not that easy to find a place like this, with capacity to cover exhibitionsストックホルムは、おもしろくて新しいカルチャーの発掘に力を入れている都市だ。ストックホルムのように、他では決して見られないようなエキシビジョンで溢れている場所を、他に見つけるのは難しいだろう。「マガシン３」はまさにこうしたスポットのひとつと言える。1987年に設立されて以来、スウェーデンの現代アートをリードする存在だ。
アーティストに作品発表の場を提供したり、アート活動を支援することで、現代カルチャーに積極的に参加することを目的としている。マガシン３でのエキシビジョンは、他の現代アート施設で扱えなきれないものを補完するものであり、また、他の施設へ対する挑戦でもある。毎年6〜8のエキシビジョンを開催しており、常設のインスタレーションは、ジェームズ・タレルによる、1992年の「ダウニング」のみである。過去15年間に渡って、マガシン３は、所蔵するコレクションの作品を、世界中のたくさんの美術館に貸し出してきた。現在では600もの作品を所蔵している。
また、多くのエキシビジョンにおいて、アーティストとのコラボレーションによる、限定版の画集の発売も行っている。
2009年には、ソニック・ユースのギタリストであるリー・ラナルドと、彼の妻であり、写真家、マルチメディア・アーティストのリア・シンガー、そしてマガシン３のシェフキュレーターを務める、リチャード・ジュリンの間で行われた、アートについてのディスカッションである「iloveyouihateyou 」というエキシビジョンを開催した。
マガシン３はポッドキャストも配信している。参加アーティストによる録り下ろしのトークなど、厳選されたエキシビジョンのオーディオガイドを取り揃えており、ここからダウンロードできる。（英語、スウェーデン語対応）
マガシン３はフリーハムネンという、古いフリーポートのタリンターミナルの隣にある元倉庫の一階にある。ゲストは建物側のエレベータを利用することができる。おしゃれなカフェもある。
マガシン３は現在、夏期間クローズ中。2009年9月11日には、スマダール・ドレフュス（1963年生まれ、テルアビブ出身、現在はロンドン在住）を迎え、再びオープンする。このエキシビジョンは2009年12月13日まで開催される予定。また、ソル・ルウィットによるコンセプチュアル・アートのエキシビジョンも、2009年10月2日から2010年の6月まで開催が予定されている。

Translation: Ayano Yamada that without them it never could happen. Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall is one of those great spots. Founded in 1987 it´s one of the leading institutions of contemporary art in Sweden.
The aim is to actively participate in contemporary culture by introducing and presenting artists and supporting artistic work. The exhibition program of Magasin 3 is regarded as a complement and a challenge to other institutions of contemporary art. They produce and present approximately six to eight exhibitions every year and the only permanent installation is “Dawning”, 1992 by James Turrell. During the last 15 years Magasin 3 has lent works from the Collection to numerous museums around the world. Currently there are approximately 600 works in the collection.
With the majority of the exhibitions a limited edition of artists’ books is also published in close collaboration with the artist.
During the 2009 the institution held the exhibition “iloveyouihateyou” a generous discussions on art between Lee Renaldo, guitarrist of Sonic Youth, his wife Leah Singer, photographer and multimedia artist and Richard Julin, chef curator of Magasin 3.
Podcast by Magazine 3 are also produced. A list of audio guides for selected exhibitions, including different conversations from participating artists. You can download them in Swedish and English from their website.
Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall is located on the first floor in the former warehouse ‘Magasin 3’, next to the Tallinn terminal in the old Free Port (Frihamnen). Visitors can use the elevators located on the side of the building. You can also find its nice café.
Magasin 3 has now closed for the summer and opens again on September 11 with Smadar Dreyfus (1963 Tel Aviv, lives and works in London). It will be until 13 December.
An exhibition by the conceptual art of Sol Lewitt will be held from 2 October until June 2010.
