Asylum Shop brought to Ann Siang the notion of the concept lifestyle store, combining fashion, with media, design, food, art and culture in one slick shophouse packageアサイラム・ショップのコンセプトは、ライフスタイルに適した商品を扱うということであり、ファッションやメディア、デザイン、フード、芸術と文化にいたるまでを組み合わせひとつにした趣向をこらしたショップだ。ローカルファッション・シーンで洗練されたショップや、複数のブランドが頻繁に進出する中でアサイラムは、ショップ自体を一新した。
美しさに対して鋭く世界に君臨するアサイラムからは、数多くのインターナショナルな最新ブランドやヒットを打ち出している。その中には、北欧のミスモバッグやアクセサリーが香港の棚に陳列されていたり、フランスのサーフェイス・トゥ・エアのようにオンライン上で強い存在感を持つものまである。また、アクネの他にも合計11ものブランドを取り扱っている。
今回のアサイラムの改装では、かつてオフィスだった地下室にもショップスペースを展開している。そこではフレッド・ペリーやオートクチュールの展示に利用されている。そんな新しく生まれ変わったアサイラムは、おしゃれなショップやレストランが軒を連ねるアン・シアン・ロードにある。

Translation: Julie Morikawa. With a growing sophistication in the local fashion scene, and with the growing popularity of multi-label concept stores, Asylum took a break and revamped itself with a brand new logo to boot.
Sharper in aesthetics, a leader in the global scene, Asylum Shop brings in the latest international labels and hits, such as Danish Mismo bags and accessories (which is popping across shelves in Hong Kong), Surface to Air (French label with a strong online presence, even with its own guerilla NYC store), cult Acne (need we say more?) and a few more (a total of 11 we heard). The Asylum revamp transforms the space into a preppy office, transforming the basement (the previous Asylum office space) into an extension of the shop.
In between Asylum’s break, the space was used for Fred Perry and even as a Haute Couture exhibition space. We missed Asylum and welcome it back with open arms.
