An upbeat vibe is taking over the former (existing?) red light area of Keong Saik Road. Gone are the seedy hotels, replaced with posh boutique hotels. With gentrification comes the influx of trendy bars and bistrosかつての赤線地区として知られるケオン・サイク・ロードの歓楽街。現在は明るい雰囲気へと変わってきている。この地域のみすぼらしいホテルは上品なブティックホテルに取って替わり、高級化に伴いチャイナタウンの一角を盛り上げるように、おしゃれなバーやビストロなど新しいエネルギーが吹き込んでいる。この流れに弾みをつけたのが、カジュアルなビストロ、ケオン・サイク・スナックである。
略式のセッティングで創作料理が味わえるこのお店では、あまり気構える必要はなく、お店でセレクトされたメニューの軽食を食べる感覚だ。英国の伝統に基づいた、ミシュラン・スターシェフであるジェイソン・アサートンのルーツとインスピレーションから生まれる、国際色豊かな心地よい食事を堅苦しくない雰囲気で楽しむ事ができる。
キムチバーガーは和牛ビーフを使った典型的な韓国のスタイルの一方、ジェイソン特性のホットドッグは、地元のエシャロットとハラペーニョの意外な組み合わせが、統一感のある素晴らしい味に仕上がっている。
英国の素晴らしい伝統である屋台のアツアツのドーナツを、ケオン・サイク・スナックでは全く新しいレベルのシナモンドーナッツとして提供してくれる。

You don’t have to take yourself too seriously here as you tuck into the curated selection of snacks. Grounded by the British tradition, with Michelin Star Chef Jason Atherton’s roots and inspiration, iconic global comfort foods are presented in a delightful manner.
The Kimchi Burger takes on the quintessential Korean staple with Wagyu beef, while Jason’s Very Hot Dog brings local shallots with Jalapenos together to create an unexpected but glorious unification of tastes. In the great British tradition of piping hot Doughnuts at fairs, Keong Saik Snacks’s take of Doughnuts with Cinnamon takes it to a whole new level.
