Tucked away from the main buzz along the Singapore River is a little white space. Walk past the wine bars and cafes of Robertson Walk and the stark white space of EDIT LIFE hits youシンガポールリバーの騒音に隠れた小さな白い空間。ワインバーとカフェが連なるロバートソンウォークを抜けると、がらんとした白い空間、エディット・ライフにあたる日。小さくてコンパクト。一部はギャラリー、一部はポップアップストア。エディット・ライフは本人の作品と共に、シンガポールアートとデザインコミュニティの作品も展示している。
それぞれのショーケースで、この白いキューブが異なるペルソナを担っている。アーティストと作品の印象を活かす為に丁寧に企画展示され、軽やかな斜線を生かしたミニマルなスペースが壁という枠を越えてアートワークを引き立たせている。展覧会に展示されている作品の関連グッズなどが販売されていることも、エディット・ライフならでは。ひと休みして、ちょっと調整して、将来やライフスタイルを軌道修正してみるのもいい。
もし不平不満が何もないなら、アートもデザインも必要がないのかも。エディット・ライフのトートバッグ、本や雑誌など定番のアイテムが、隣の楽しいカフェスペースへと誘ってくれる。

Translation: Hanae Kawai. Small and compact. Part gallery, part pop-up store. EDIT LIFE showcases Japanese creative works, as well as the works of the Singaporean art and design community.
With each showcase, this white cube takes on a different persona. Carefully curated to show the influence of the artist and artwork, the minimalist space with crisp slanted lines extends the artwork beyond the walls, into the space. Related collaterals and items based on the artwork on exhibition are curated for sale as part of the EDIT LIFE experience. Asking one to pause, tweak and enhance one’s outlook, one’s lifestyle.
Fret not if art and design is not up your alley. A staple of items, such as EDIT LIFE tote bags, books and magazines make for a delightful take away to the café next door.
