DJオゾンこと、マイケル・オールソンは上海を拠点に活躍するＤＪ、音楽プロデューサーが集まった「アンチドート」の創設メンバー。時には、上海のライフスタイル、インターネットマガジン「スマート上海」のMichael Ohlsson a.k.a. DJ Ozone is the founding member of Shanghai-based independent DJ/ music producer collective Antidote. He is a sometime food reviewer at comprehensive Shanghai lifestyle e-zine Smartshanghai料理ライターでもある。元ベーガン（完全菜食主義者）である彼はまた、人気のある一風変わった料理を紹介したり、「Weird Meat」で旅行ブログを残したりしている。
自己紹介をお願いします。また最近の活動も教えてください。
マイケルです。サンフランシスコ出身ですが、ここ数年は上海に住んでいます。いくつかの名前でパーティーを主催したりしていますが、アンチドートがもっとも知られている名前です。アンチドートはDJや音楽プロデューサーの集まりで、毎月恒例２大イベントを上海で主催し、その一つは常にエレクトロニック・ミュージックに注目したライブです。他にも、中国の他の都市を回るライブも行っています。
2009年の5月に大きなイベントがありますね。中国で全国的な才能を持った新しい音楽プロデューサーを探す企画をローンチしました。5月23日には、初のエレクトロニック・ミュージックフェスティバルを、古代の「水の村」である上海から少し外れた町で行います。北京での毎月恒例のイベントに加え、長沙、武漢、抗州などでも行います。うーん、忙しいですね。
気に入っている上海の屋台料理を教えてください。
上海の屋台で唯一気に入ったのは、ウイグル（イスラム教）のラウンドパンです。他のものすべてが甘すぎるか、粗悪な油で食べられたものではないです。
上海について面白いところを教えてください。
自分勝手で、無情で、罪深くって…まるで私のようですね。
毎日どのように仕事をしているのですか？
たまに、ノートパソコンと無線ＬＡＮだけでベッドの上にいます。意欲があるときは、オフィスとなっている別の部屋にいきます。朝食にリンゴを食べます。それが毎日の全てですね。
上海のお気に入りの隠れ家を教えてください。
隠れ家ですよ！大きな声では言えないですが。
「グルメカフェ」はバーガーが最高です！ (陕西北路455号 近北京西路)
「シャルマン」はホットチョコレートが最高です！ (淮海中路1414号 近复兴西路)
「衡山カフェ」はスープが最高です！(衡山路308号 近吴兴路)

最後に今日のご予定は？
毎月恒例のパーティーのために、今夜、杭州に行きます。新しいパブですが、カジュアルで、本当に気に入っています。その上、現地の人々が本当にフレンドリーで協力的です。しかも、何の見返りもなしでいい音楽をどんどん薦めてくれるのです。今夜は、アフリカ、ブラジル、インド、ラテンの国々のニューミュージックをかけながら、少し違ったことをやろうと考えています。中国の多くの人は、こんな感じの音楽はほとんど経験したことがないので、きっとやりがいのある経験になると思います。ただ願うことは、明日、二日酔いになりすぎないことですね。なぜなら、電車で帰って、土曜日の夜にはシェルターに戻らなくてはいけないので。

Please tell us about yourself/ your collective and what you have been up to recently.
I’m Michael, I’m from San Francisco, but I’ve been living in Shanghai a few years now. I organize parties under several different names, but Antidote is the most known one. Antidote is a collective of DJs and music producers and we have 2 popular monthly events in Shanghai, one that always features live electronic music. We also have monthlies in other cities around China.
May 2009 is going to be a big one. We’re launching a nation-wide talent search for new music producers in China. And on May 23 we’re doing the first electronic music festival in town — just outside of Shanghai in an ancient “water” village. Plus our usual monthly events in Beijing, Changsha, Wuhan, Hangzhou, etc. Busy busy!
Name your favorite Shanghai street food.
The only street food in Shanghai I like is the Xinjiang (Muslim) bread rounds. Everything else is too sweet or massacred in bad oil.

It’s selfish, soulless, sinful… like myself.
How do you get to work everyday?
Some days I simply stay in bed with laptop and wifi. When I’m ambitious I walk into the other room, which is my office. I eat apples for breakfast, that’s all, every day.

They’re hideouts, so I’m not telling.
Oh, Gourmet Cafe (No. 455 Shaanxi Bei Lu, near Beijing Xi Lu) has the best burgers!
Charmant (No. 1414 Huaihai Zhong Lu, near Fuxing Xi Lu) has the best hot chocolate!
Hengshan Cafe (No. 308 Hengshan Lu, near Wuxing Lu) has the best soup!
Vienna Cafe (No. 25 Shaoxing Lu, near Ruijin Er Lu) has the best coffee!
Last but not least, what’s on your mind/ to-do list today?
Going to Hangzhou tonight to do our monthly party there. I really like it there. It’s in a new pub, but casual, and the people there are really friendly and supportive and eager to push good music without pretensions. Tonight we’re doing something a little different, playing all new music from Africa, Brazil, India, and Latin countries. Most people in China have never experienced this kind of music so it’s sure to be a rewarding experience. I just hope I’m not too hungover tomorrow cause it’s back on the train and back to The Shelter on Saturday night!
