Daily Projects is a multi-story boutique, café and art space run by Lee Junghee, daughter of one of Korean fashion’s founders. After graduating from Parsons School of Design in New Yorkデイリープロジェクトはリー・ジャンギィーによって、服、カフェにアートスペースなど多用途に渡って運営されている、注目のスポット。ニューヨークのパーソンズ美術大学を卒業した後ジャンギィーは、彼女の父親が創設した年老いたブランドを、製造業の中心地でコンセプチュアル志向を取り入れたブランドへと変身させた。
建物は近代的かつユニークで、その構造は目的に良く適している。いわゆる高級ブランドではなく、デイリープロジェクトはより多くの人に向けデザインされている。様々スペースが、食事をしたり読んだり、リラックスする場所として提供されている。ラウンジでは最新号のアートニュースやバイスマガジンを足を止めて読むことができる。２階では卓球でいつまでも遊ぶ事ができるし、ギャラリーで様々変わるインスタレーションの作品展示を見る事もできる。
メインのファッションフロアには奇抜なスタイルが反映されている。スペースはリーと彼女のスタッフによって完璧にキュレーションされている。まるで美術館にいるかのように、鮮やかで多種に渡るテキスタイルのヘルムート・ラングやグラウンド・ゼロの作品や、ジェレミー・スコットの羽の生えたスニーカーや、ティエリー・ラスリーのサングラス作品が混ざって展示されている。そのようなハイ・ファッションに加え、ご機嫌な地元のデザイナーによる作品たちも見ることができる。
アパレル、アートスペース、ラウンジに加え最近ではフリーマーケットなど、リー・ジュンギィーの豊かな販売アイディアがソウルで実現している。

Translation: Memi Mizukami, Junghee has revitalized her father’s aging brand and morphed it into a concept-driven fashion label housed in the company’s former manufacturing center.
A modern building with a unique façade, the building’s original structure was well-suited to its current purpose. More than just a high-end boutique, Daily Projects is designed to offer something for everyone. The different spaces provide venues to eat, read, and relax. Pause in the lounge to peruse the latest issue of ArtNews or Vice magazine. Linger on the 2nd floor to play a game of table tennis or check out the rotating selection of installation artists at the attached gallery.
Finally, arrive at the main boutique, a mirrored haven for outrageous style. The space is impeccably curated by Lee and her staff. As if in a museum, the colors and textures of Helmut Lang and Ground-Zero mingle with winged sneakers by Jeremy Scott and android-esque sunglasses by Thierry Lasry. In addition to high fashion, you’ll find funky, homegrown pieces made by local designers.
Combination boutique, art space, lounge, and more recently, flea market, Lee Junghee’s idea for a truly imaginative retail environment has become a reality in Seoul.
