国松 希根太Kineta Kunimatsu

札幌から南に約90km、苫小牧と登別の中間の海岸線に位置する白老町にアトリエを構え活動するアーティスト、国松希根太。Kineta Kunimatsu works in the atelier in Shiraoi located about 90 kilometers south of Sapporo and on the middle coastline between Tomakomai and Noboribetsu.彼の作る木の彫刻は、柔らかく優しい存在感のあるものから、荒削りで力強いものまで幅広い。若手ながら数々の展覧会への参加やライブイベントではミュージシャンとコラボレートも行っている。近年、彫刻作品の他、平面作品やインスタレーション作品等、活動の幅を広げている彼に最近の様子について話を伺った。
まずはじめに自己紹介をお願いします。
国松希根太。1977年、札幌市生まれ。現在は北海道、白老町の飛生にある、1986年に廃校になった飛生小学校跡地を再生した「飛生アートコミュニティー」を拠点に制作しています。
アトリエのある白老について教えてください。どのような所ですか？なぜ白老に拠点を置いているのでしょう？
白老には６年前から住んでいます。温泉、白老牛、アイヌ民族博物館などがあり、海も山も近い町です。拠点を置いている理由は、飛生小学校という廃校のアトリエがあり、そこが制作する環境として気に入っているからです。
おすすめの場所を教えてください。
【白老】
倶多楽湖：水質が良く透明度も高い神聖な雰囲気の湖。人も少ないので独り占め出来る事もあります。
虎杖浜アヨロ温泉：純度100％の天然温泉。300円という金額も良心的。銭湯感覚で気軽に行けます。
とんとん：竹浦にある料理店。飛生に仲間で集まって飲んだ次の日の昼食は、大体ここに行きます。オススメはおまかせ定食。
【札幌】
大倉山ジャンプ競技場：札幌を一望出来るSKY HIGHな場所。道外や海外からきた友人をよく連れて行きます。将来ジャンプ台のデザインしてみたいです。
北海道神宮：歩いているだけで落ち着ける場所。たまに一人で行ったりする。
マジックスパイス：白石区にあるスープカレー屋。昔から家族で行っていた大好きなお店。

1977年、札幌市生まれ。 多摩美術大学美術学部彫刻科を卒業後、2002年より白老町にある飛生アートコミュニティーを拠点に制作活動を行なう。 近年は、木を素材とした彫刻作品の他、平面作品やインスタレーション作品等、活動の幅を広げている。 主に個展、グループ展等で作品を発表し、香港での個展「RAINY DAYS」、「RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2007 in EZO」での作品制作等、国内外で発表活動を続けている。 また、飛生アートコミュニティーの活動として、アート関連のイベントや展覧会の企画にも多数関わり、現在は北海道教育大学大学院にてアートマネージメントを学んでいる。2009年は、個展（Gallery創）、グループ展（CAI02 他）、MAGICAL CAMP 2009、飛生芸術祭等を予定している。

Text: Mariko Takei His works vary in taste from soft and gentle to strong and rough-cut. He, though young, participates in lots of group exhibitions and does live painting in collaboration with some musicians, expanding the range of activities into plane works and installations as well as wooden pieces.
First of all, could you introduce yourself?
I’m Kineta Kunimatsu, born in Sapporo in 1977. Now I’m based in Tobiu Art Community in Tobiu.
Could you tell us about Shiraoi and the reason why you are based there?
I have lived there since 6 years ago. It’s famous for spas, Shiraoi Beef, and Ainu Museum. The reason for the base is that there is an atelier of closed school named Tobiu Elementary School and I really like that surrounding.
Please tell us a favourite places in the city you live and work in.
In Shiraoi
Lake Kuttara: This lake has a great water quality and clarity, and is full of sacred atmosphere. Less tourists around so that you can have it to yourself.
Kojohama Aroyo Spa: 100% of pure natural hot spring. The 300 Yen for entrance is good price, too.
Tonton: A restaurant in Takeura. I usually have a lunch on the day after having alcohols with friends in Tobiu.
In Sapporo
Okurayama Jump Stadium: A sky high place with a view of Sapporo. I often take my friends outside Hokkaido and Japan to this place. I’d like to design a jump stadium in the future.
Hokkaidojingu (Hokkaido Shrine): A nice and calm place just walking by. I sometimes visit there by myself.
MagicSpice: My favorite soup curry restaurant in Shiroishi, Sapporo, where I used to go with my family since I was a kid.
Kineta Kunimatsu
Born in Sapporo in 1977 and after graduated Department of Sculpture from Tama Art University, Kineta Kunimatsu has been active creating works based in TOBIU ART COMMUNITY located in Shiraoi since 2002. Recently he explores his creation making wooden sculptures as well as 2 dimentional works and installations. He continues to present locally and internationally as showing at both solo and group exhibitions including a solo exhibition “RAINY DAYS” in Hong Kong and “RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL 2007 in EZO” in Hokkaido. Also, as one of the activities at TOBIU ART COMMUNITY, he has been involved in planning the diverse programs of art events and exhibitions, and currently he studies art management at graduate school of Hokkaido University of Education. In 2009 he will be participating in TOBIU ART FESTIVAL, MAGICAL CAMP 2009, group exhibitions (CAI02 and more), as well as showing a solo exhibition at Gallery Sou.
