Bird Cage is a cafe situated on the interior shop Uguis opened in 2006, renovated 90-year-old building where features original furniture. Made with waste materials, the shop is named after as birds make their own nest築90年以上経っている建物を一人でリノベーションし、2006年にオープンしたオリジナルの家具などを販売するショップ「Uguis」（ウグイス）にあるカフェ「Bird Cage」（バードケージ）。鳥が巣作りするように廃材を持ち合わせて作ったことから名付けられた。
店のリノベーションのみならず、オリジナル家具やインテリア商品、旬の食材を使用したケーキやパン、フードを含むカフェのメニューも、店主の佐藤孝範氏が全て一人で作っている。手作り感溢れるお店だが、そのひとつひとつのクオリティの高さには驚かされる。
小学校や公園などに隣接するゆったりとした環境で、手作りの料理から季節を楽しむのもいいだろう。小樽駅からも近いので、小樽へ行ったら立ち寄り、ゆっくりと時を過ごして欲しい場所だ。

The owner Takanori Sato works on by himself not only renovating the shop but also making original furniture and interior products as well as seasonal food menu for the cafe. It is a handmade shop, yet with a stunning quality.
In the relaxed location near elementary school and park, the place offers you seasonal pleasure with hand-made dishes. Near Otaru Station, it is recommended for spending relax moments in Otaru.
