Toyako Museum of Art was opened in April 2008 in the renovated old government office of Toya village where was located by the lake side of Toyako. They displays various art works including one of the famous sculptor in Hokkaido, Bikky Sunazawa洞爺湖芸術館は、2008年4月に旧洞爺村役場庁舎を改築して開館した洞爺湖畔にある小さな美術館。北海道を代表する彫刻家・砂澤ビッキの作品、小型彫刻公募展「洞爺村国際彫刻ビエンナーレ」の作品や、谷崎潤一郎、三島由紀夫、有島武郎ら日本の近・現代文学の初版本、限定本のコレクションなどを展示している。
１階は砂澤ビッキ（1931-1989年）の木彫り彫刻を中心に、ペインティングなどの作品展示や、生前使用していた道具を並べたアトリエが再現されている。砂澤ビッキの作品は北海道では札幌芸術の森野外美術館や音威子府村の「BIKKYアトリエ３モア」などで見ることができるが、札幌近郊でまとまった作品を見れるのはここだけ。
２階には、1993年から2007年にかけて行われた公募展「洞爺村国際彫刻ビエンナーレ」の入賞作品をはじめとする約90点の小型彫刻作品が並んでいる。小作品ながらここで世界の現代彫刻の流れを一望することができる。彫刻に興味があれば洞爺湖に来た際には是非訪れてみて欲しい。
洞爺湖では様々なパブリックアートも楽しめる。洞爺湖の周囲43kmに渡って広がる「とうや湖ぐるっと彫刻公園」では58の野外彫刻が設置されており、北海道美唄市出身の世界的彫刻家、安田侃（やすだかん）の「意心帰」、「回生」をはじめ、国内外の56名のアーティストの作品が鑑賞できる。

On the ground floor, there showcases Bikky Sunagawa (1931-1989) works like curved wood sculpture, paintings and recreates his past atelier with his equipments which he has used. In Hokkaido the works by Bikky Sunazawa can be also seen at Sapporo Artwork Sculpture Garden and Bikky Atelier 3moa in Otoineppu.
On the second floor, they features about 90 small sculptural works including selected works for Toyamura International Sculpture Biennale held during 1993-2007. For people who like sculpture, worth visit this place while your travel in Toyako.
You can enjoy viewing various public arts around Lake Toya. There are 58 sculptures displayed in the Toyako Sculpture Park spread around the lakeside for 43km long, including an Bibai, Hokkaido born artist Kan Yasuda’s ISHINKI and KAISEI among other national and international 56 artists’ works.
