Formally a theatre previously known as Théâtre de la Gaîté, the now renamed as La Gaîté-Lyrique, was ambitiously rebought and reopened in 2011 by the City of Paris as an innovative space for digital arts and modern music公式には、そのシアターは以前ゲテ劇場という名前で知られていたが、パリ市が買い取り、デジタルアートとモダンミュージックの為の革新的な空間として2011年に改装オープンさせ、今は「ゲテ・リリック」と名前が改められている。未来のコンテンポラリーカルチャーが、1862年に建てられた歴史的な建物の中にあるという組み合わせが面白い。
宮殿の様なインテリアの大小の広間、講堂、そして図書館があり、それらは展示、コンサート、フィルムの上映会とパフォーマンスが催される場所となる。全てのクリエイティブの分野を支援し、向上させる事と、それらの新しい芸術を展示し、根付かせる事を目的としている。
このシアターは、オルケストル・ナシオナル・ドゥ・ジャズのライブコンサートからチリー・ゴンザレスやブライアン・イーノの3Dライブまで、異文化と関連のあるどんなものを見るにもパリの中では一番の場所だ。ゲテ・リリックは、以前スケートボードカルチャーにインスパイアされた展示を開催しており、建物の前に設置されたスケートボード場では、海外や地元のボーダー達がスケートボードをし、作品もいくつか展示された。

Translation: Yoko Kazama. It has been delightfully transformed into a futuristic realm of contemporary culture, intriguingly housed in a traditional fačade originally built in 1862.
Hosting a Grand & Petite Salle, plus Auditorium and Library in a labrinyth-like interior, the space hosts a number of exhibitions, concerts, film screenings and performances all taking place in the modest-in-grandeur space. Endeavouring to support and enhance all fields in the creative realm, showcasing those emerging and those equally respectively established.
This is certainly the best place in Paris to see any show of extraordinary cultural relevance from live concerts of Orchestre Nationale de Jazz, or Chilly Gonzales to Brian Eno in live 3D. La Gaîté-Lyrique previously presented the skateboard-influenced exhibition, Public Domaine, perfectly accompanied by foreign and local skaters riding the permanent skate bowl located in front of the building and some of the greatest skating-inspired works to date.
With a strong emphasis on cultural awareness and involvement from the local community, the facilities encourage guests to visit the library stocking collections of art magazines, the latest computer games, studios for artists and even a beautiful café. Why not enjoy your café au lait amongst 19th century architecture and next door’s contrasting neon light installation.
