A photo gallery “Nadar” has been 10 years since opened in 2000 in Minami Senba Osaka. The gallery has built firm position as a long-established photo gallery for all of photo lovers2000年に大阪南船場にオープンしたフォトギャラリー「Nadar」（ナダール）。その存在は今や写真好きには、うってつけの老舗フォトギャラーとして確固たる地位を築いている。
名前の由来は19世紀から20世紀初めまで作家、素描家、飛行家、そして写真家として政治家、芸術家、文化人などを自身のスタジオへ招き撮影し活躍したフランス人アーティストの呼び名から取ったもの。そんなエピソードから、人が集まるサロンになるように、新しいことに挑戦していく姿勢を持ち続けるよう、また無名な作家の成長を応援できるようにと、彼の名前を選んだという。
ナダールが入っている大阪農林会館は三菱商事大阪支店（当時）として昭和５年に建てられ、現在はギャラリーや飲食店、洋服屋など多くのテナントが入る人気スポットで、洋館の佇まいと中のテナントとのユニークなコントラストが魅力だ。
ナダールはすべての写真好きの人に満足してもらうべく、これまでに有名無名を問わず、数多くの写真家の企画展の開催や撮影旅行、ワークショップ、一般の人向けの写真教室やテーマに沿った写真のグループ展の開催など様々なイベントで交流をはかり、写真を撮る楽しみや自分の作品を見てもらう喜びなど色々な角度からのアプローチで写真の魅力を伝えている。
今後も続々と新しい企画展を予定なので、ウェブサイトなどでこまめにスケジュールをチェックし、実際に足を運び「生」で写真の良さを触れてみてほしい。

The name of the gallery was taken from the nickname of a French artist who was a writer, artist, aviator and photographer who invited and pictured politicians, artists and cultured people at his studio. The gallery chose the nickname to sympathize the episode, making a wish to be salon where people gather and challenging new things, supporting unknown photographers.
Nadar is located in Osaka Nourin Kaikan (Osaka Agriculture and Forestry hall) where was built as the Osaka blanch of Mitsubishi Corporation in 1930 during Showa period. And it is fascinating the unique contrast between the surface of the building and tenants inside which are consisted of galleries, restaurants and boutiques.
The gallery has been holding a number of exhibitions, photography trip, workshops, photography classes and many more events to communicate with all of photo lovers to send charms of photography from different angles such as satisfactions to show own works, enjoyment of taking pictures.
It will be new exhibitions one after another, to check the schedule at website and touch the excellence of photography in live.
