If someone asks me “where are the hottest clothing stores in New York City?” I will immediately give OAK as one of them. OAK opened its first store in Brooklyn a couple years ago, and it did not take long for them to open its second store in Nolita「ニューヨークで今一番若者が集まるショップは？」と、尋ねられたら、私は「オーク」をその一つとして挙げるだろう。もともとはブルックリンでスタートしたオークがマンハッタンのノリータに進出したのは、つい最近のことだ。
私がオークを挙げる理由は、鋭い観察眼でトレンドをいち早くキャッチし、セレクトされるブランド群だけではない。様々な地元アーティストと行うイベント、様々な業界人が集まるパーティなど、ニューヨークのお洒落な若者達を巻き込んだ様々なイベントは、観光客向けのクラブパーティやイベントとはまた違ったエクスクルーシブ感が味わえる。
扱っているブランド群も、アレキサンダーワン、アクネ、サーフェイストゥーエアーなど、エッジの効いたセレクトで、地元で活動している新人デザイナーのアイテムも多数扱っている。ニューヨークのリアルなハイセンスファッションや、それを纏う人々の空気感を肌で感じたいのであれば、オークは是非お勧めしたいお店の一つだ。

The reason why I listed OAK as one of the hottest spots in New York is not only because of their keen eyes on current trend and brands that they carry, but also their frequent collaboration parties with local creators. Those are different from parties which many regular tourists go to. You will witness real New York people are having a real fun. They carry young and edgy designers such as Alexander Wang, Acne, and Surface to Air which are current top brands in New York. OAK is definitely one of the spots that I recommend if you want to be involved with New York crazy fashion scene.
