築80年の銭湯・旧藤の森温泉をリノベーションし、カフェとして2000年にオープンした京都「さらさ西陣」。映画「千と千尋の神隠し」のお風呂屋さんの様な唐破風の屋根Renovated former Fujinomori Onsen that was built about 80 years ago, Sarasa Nishijin opened as a cafe in 2000 in Kyoto. The building looks like the Sento in Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki, especially the roof, the high ceiling called gotenjyo (latticework ceiling) and interior using Japanese majolica tiles.
In the comfortable cafe, they serve Italian based original food and drink. They also serve delicious desserts that feature seasonal ingredients. Since they also hold art exhibitions and live events in this cafe, check the event schedule on the website.
Sarasa Kayukoji and Sarasa Huyacho PAUSA on the Kayukoji street, Sarasa 3 on the San-jo street and Sarasa Manje on the Oshikoji street are all sister cafes of Sarasa Nishijin. You can enjoy different types of Sarasa atmosphere at each place.
Nishijin is an old town in Kyoto where has old distinctive atmosphere. Around Sarasa Nishijin, there are Daitoku-ji, a temple famous for the Japanese rock garden made by Mirei Shigemori, hand-made soba restaurant Kanei, one of the most famous shops for Warabimochi Saraku, and an original Karakami shop Kamisoe. So if you visit Nishijin, visit these places, too.

系列に、花遊小路の「さらさ花遊小路」、「サラサ麩屋町PAUSA」、三条通りの「サラサ3」、押小路の「サラサ マンジェ」がある。それぞれに違った雰囲気の「さらさ」が楽しめるので見かけたら立ち寄ってみて欲しい。
下町風情の残る京都・西陣。近郊には、重森三玲作の枯山水がある大徳寺や、京わらびもちの超有名店「茶洛」（さらく）、手打ちそばの「かね井」、オリジナル唐紙の店「かみ添」（かみそえ）などもあるので合わせて訪れて欲しい。
