RAD (Researching for Architecture and Design) は、建築とデザインのリサーチ活動を行うインディペンデントな組織として2007年に設立。Established in 2007 as an independent organization to research architecture and design, RAD街づくり活動への参加や上映会、インスタレーション、研究発表会などを行っている。
2008年度からは京都河原町三条に活動拠点として「radlab.」を開設、京都中心部という立地を生かし、レクチャーや展示会、イベントなど様々なプロジェクトを発生させていくオルタナティブスペースとして活動を行っている。
『その場所の形や性質を変えていくのは、その場所が持つ意味をも変えていく事に繋がる』と詠うフィロソフィーから様々なプロジェクトや企画が行われており、建築やデザイン、都市や空間に関わる事象を中心に、リサーチプロセスのアウトプットは、実際の都市の中、あるいはウェブ上で展開していく。

Based in Kawaramachi Sanjo in Kyoto, “ladlab.” was opened in 2008 and provides an alternative space for various projects of events, lectures and exhibitions. Based on their philosophy as “to change the form and nature of a place means to change the meaning of the place itself”, they offer many projects and events focusing on architecture, design and events related to urban and space, and the result of the research will be explored in the actual urban setting or on the web.
