アニュアル・ギャラリーAnewal Gallery

「ANEWAL Gallery（アニュアル・ギャラリー）」は元錦糸問屋だった築120年の京町家を自らで設計・改修を行い、母屋の一階をギャラリーとして開放したもの。ANEWAL Gallery is opened as a gallery that was formally a 120-year-old yarn warehouse which was then renovated by themselves to re-examine the possibilities of fieldsアート・デザインの領域・可能性の再検証を目的としてディレクター・デザイナー・アーティスト・学生を中心に運営している。ここでの目的は「視点の提供」と「人と人、人と場所を繋げる事」とし、「外に出るギャラリー」を目指して様々な活動を行っている。
アニュアル・ギャラリーでも不定期に展示やイベントを行っているが、路上に生える普通の雑草に、生えている場所・形等から名前をつける「まちくさ」プロジェクトや、廃校になった京都市内小学校を会場に、地元住民と共に地域活性化のためのイベント「登校日和」、借り手がつかない古家でアーティストが作品を制作するアートでリノベーション展を開催するなど、まさに「外に出る」ギャラリーとして幅広く活動を行っている。
さらには、京都市内に残る京町家の立ち並ぶ通りを舞台に、地元住民と共に町家の中から外に向けて光を照らすライトアップ「都ライト」は、2009年で開催５年目になる。年々会場となる通りを増やし、昨年は三日間で5000人を動員した。
現在、重要文化財である京都府庁旧本館にて、アートイベント「ECHO TOUR ’09」を企画中だ。

Besides irregularly held exhibitions and events in ANEWAL Gallery, they are actively working on a wide variety of events which happen outside the gallery, to hold art renovation exhibitions at the vacant house, and other events to develop the local area with the local public.
