神戸市立須磨海浜水族園Suma Aqualife Park

Opened in 1957 as the largest aquarium in the East (formally named as Kobe Prefectural Suma Aquarium), Suma Aqualife Park is located in the Suma Aqualife Park昭和32年に東洋一の規模で神戸市立須磨水族館としてオープンした、須磨海浜公園内にある「神戸市立須磨海浜水族園」。大型水族館ブームの先駆けとなった施設だ。
青い海を背景に建てられた三角屋根は、須磨海浜公園のランドマークとなっており、神戸市民や関西の人達に古くから愛されている。
イルカショーなどのアトラクションをはじめ、水族園で初の展示となるゴマフアザラシ、50種を超える大小様々な魚が泳ぐ水量1,200トンの大型水槽や、アマゾン館の水中トンネルも人気で、ユニークな捕食が見られる「さかなライブ劇場」、インタラクティブな企画展示など、子供から大人まで、楽しみながら魚の生態を学べるようになっている。
また、屋上展望広場からの須磨海岸の眺めも素晴らしく、天気の良い日は淡路島、紀伊半島まで大阪湾が一望できる。
