大濠公園Ohori Park

Ohori Park is an oasis in the city for the citizens of Fukuoka. The park is known as a popular cherry blossom viewing spot during the spring and a popular spot for大濠（おおほり）公園は、福岡市民によって都会の中のオアシス。お花見ポイントとしても有名で、夏には西日本大濠花火大会の会場となっているなど人気のスポットの１つだ。
大濠公園は池が特徴的な公園。池を貫くように島が浮かんでおり、それぞれが橋でつながっている。約40万平方メートルと広い敷地にある池の周囲は約２キロとジョギングやサイクリングにも最適。
公園内には、福岡市美術館をはじめ、武道館や能楽堂、日本庭園やレストランなどがある。公園南口にある日本庭園は築山林泉回遊式の庭園で、園内には数寄屋造りの茶室と茶会館がある。また、ボートハウスやトリムを始めダイナミックな遊具がある児童公園などは、子供連れの家族に人気となっている。

Ohori Park features a unique pond. In the middle of the pond is an island, which is connected by a bridge. The 400,000 square meter spacious ground around pond is an ideal space for jogging and cycling.
Inside the park, there are a Fukuoka City Art Museum, a Ohori Noh theatre, a Japanese garden and a restaurant. A Japanese garden situated at the South gate, is a Chisen-kaiyu-shiki garden (pond stroll garden) and includes a sukiya style tea house. There are also a boathouse and a dynamic playing facilities such as a trim, facilitating an ideal place for families with children.
