Books Kubrick Hakozaki Store is “a bookstore in a small town” remaining firm favorites. The store is popular because of the selection of booksBOOKS KUBRICK（ブックスキューブリック）箱崎店は、根強いファンに支持される「小さな町の本屋さん」。人気の秘密は、「セレクトショップ的書店」とも言われるその品揃え。オーナーの大井さんが、日々、新刊をチェックして魅力を感じた本、旬だと思った本を置いているので、コンパクトな店内に個性的な本が揃い、本探しに時間を避けない社会人にも好評だ。
本の点数は約１万点。学習参考書とコミック以外のジャンルはほぼ網羅し、特に、インテリア、グルメ、デザインなどの生活系の本や絵本には力を入れている。棚の配置も個性的。同じ分野であれば、雑誌と単行本を近くに置いているので、より効率的に本を探せる。
螺旋階段を上ると、２階はカフェ＆ギャラリー（写真）。木をふんだんに使った店内はぬくもりを感じる。定期的に開催するギャラリー展の作品を殺さぬよう、白い窓と大きな窓でシンプルなデザインで仕上げている。
カフェで一番人気のメニューは、きのこと新たまねぎをたっぷり使った「ハヤシライス」（単品640円、セット920円）。お野菜デリが付いた「お野菜ベーグルサンドと珈琲のセット」（680円）や「季節のフレッシュジュース」（時価）、オーナーがブレンドした「一杯立て珈琲」（380円）もおすすめだ。１階の書店で購入した本を持ち込んで、長居してみたい。
福岡市内には、姉妹店として、「ブックスキューブリック けやき通り店」（中央区赤坂2丁目1-12）がある。大名・今泉から赤坂・警固地区にかけてはゆっくりとショップめぐりができる。福岡でも有数の散策路として知られる「けやき通り」の散歩も合わせておすすめしたい。

The number of selections goes around 10,000 books including most of the genres besides study books and comics, mainly focusing on interior books, food, design and picture books.
As you go upstairs on the spiral staircase, you can find a cafe and gallery on the second floor. Feeling coziness in the wooden made interior space, you can enjoy exhibitions regularly held in the gallery space.
The most popular menu is Hayashi Rice made with a lot of mushrooms and onions, a set of vegie bagle sandwich and coffee, seasonal fresh juice, and blend coffee made by the owner. There is a branch shop Books Kubrick Keyaki Street Shop in Fukuoka. You can enjoy walking around Daimyo, Imaizumi, Akasaka and Kego districts for shopping. Don’t forget to take a walk on Keyaki Street, one of the famous promenade for walk.
