ナム・ジュン・パイク ビデオ・インスタレーションNam June Paik Video Installation

The video work of a Korean artist Nam June Paik (1932-2006) has been shown as a permanent exhibition at Canal City Hakata. Nam June Paik’s biggest installationビデオ・アートの父とも言われる、韓国出身のアーティスト、ナム・ジュン・パイク（1932〜2006年）の作品が、キャナルシティ博多に常設展示されている。設置場所はキャナルシティのアトリウム空間のため、ナム・ジュン・パイクの国内最大のインスタレーション作品がいつでも無料で見ることができる。
パイク氏は、1995年の福岡アジア文化賞に選出、1996年にキャナルシティ博多のオープン時に起用され、作品が設置された。ナム・ジュン・パイク晩年の作品であり、東洋と西洋の狭間で活動を行っていた彼の作品を、アジアの玄関口・福岡で見れるのは感慨深い。芸術価値も高い貴重な作品である。
