The First Group Theatre is by far the most prestigious entertainment venue in Dubai. It was originally named The Madinat Theatre for the first three years of its life, but in 2009 was renamed after its new sponsorsドバイで超最高級のエンターテイメントを提供する場所、ザ・ファースト・グループ・シアター。設立以後３年間はマディナ・シアターという名前で知られたが、2009年に不動産開発のザ・ファースト・グループが新しいスポンサーとなり、名前も合わせて変更となった。
2004年9月のオープンから、コンサートや演劇、オペラ、ミュージカル、映画やマジックショーなど、幅広いエンターテイメントが開催されている。最近では、クルミ割り人形のバレエやオリバー物語のミュージカルも上演された。
442席ある２階建てのシアターは、毎年ドバイ国際フィルムフェスティバルの会場にもなり、トム・クルーズやコリン・ファレルといった数々の有名ハリウッドスター達がシアターのレッドカーペットを歩いてきた。
マディナジュメイラの迷路のようなスーク（市場）街を通り抜けた所にあるファースト・グループのシアターを見つけるのは簡単ではない。しかし、迷っている内にアラブスタイルのスークで発見できる珍しいショップに立ち寄ってみるのは、十分価値がある。またマディナには素敵なディナーにぴったりのレストランがたくさんあるので見逃せない。
少なくともショーの１時間前にはシアターに到着していることをお勧めする。ショーが始まるまで、ゆっくりとアラビアの大豪邸のようなデザインのロビーを十分に味わおう。ロビーには、ショーの前と間に軽く一杯楽しめるバーがある。VIPは特別エントランスを通り、上階に案内され、マジリス（アラビアテント風の応接室）でショーまでの時間をゆったりと過ごす事ができるようになっている。

Since it opened in September 2004, it has seen a wide variety of shows, including concerts, drama, opera, musical, film screenings and magic show. The most recent performances include the Nutcracker ballet, and the musical adaptation of Oliver!
The two-storey theatre with a 442 seating capacity is also the venue for the annual Dubai International Film festival. Over the years, the theatre’s red carpet has been walked by many award-winning Hollywood stars, including Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell.
Finding the First Group Theatre among the winding corridors of the Madinat Jumeirah, is no easy task. Although the opportunity to explore some of the obscure shops in the traditional-style Arabic souk is a worthwhile distraction. The Madinat also offers some fantastic dinner venues to round-out the evening.
It is good idea be there at least one hour before the show time. Getting there early means that you can fully appreciate the design of the interior, which looks like an Arabic palace. There is a bar at the foyer, where you can enjoy pre-show or interval drinks. For VIP guests, there is on the gallery level a Majilis, or a traditional Arabic hospitality tent, with a private lift entrance and waiter service.
