The first children’s museums, OliOli is located in Al Quoz, in the western side of Dubai’s core and covers a vast area of 30,000 square feet spread over two floors. Al Quoz is hiding a treasure trove of gems just waiting to be discovered; mostly known for its vibrant area full of art galleries and performance spaces, while the residential areas are quiet, spacious, individually designed and luxurious.ドバイ中心部の西側、アル・クオズに位置する「オリオリ」は、ドバイで初めての子ども美術館だ。建物は２階建てで、3万平方キロメートルという広大な敷地となっている。アル・クオズは発見されることを待ち望んでいる宝の山で、主にアートギャラリーとパフォーマンススペースが集まった活気あるエリアとして知られている。周辺は広く豪華な家々が立ち並ぶ閑静な住宅地域だ。
オリオリは、スネハ・ディビアス・アトリエと、日本人のテキスタイルアーティスト・堀内紀子のコラボレーションによって誕生した。スネハ・ディビアス・アトリエはドバイを拠点としたブティック・インテリア・建築スタジオで、コマーシャル、ホスピタリティ、住居プロジェクトを専門とし、多数の賞を獲得している。77歳のテキスタイルアーティストである堀内紀子は２年を費やして夫のチャールズとともにナイロン製かぎ針編みの虹「Tonnes Of Nylon」を制作、そして息をのむような「Toshi’s Net」と共に、自らのアートをドバイの子どもの双方向的な遊び場へと変えた。
オリオリの使命は子どもの目的地を作ることだが、それはより幸福で、クリエイティブで、想像的で、正確な情報に基づき、触発され、意識的で、バランスが取れ、驚嘆的になるための媒体として設立された。スペースは国際レベルの利潤追求型遊戯施設であり、こういった様々な目的を最大限に効率化するものだ。オリオリのコンセプトは４つのものが融合したところから着想を得た。１つ目は子どもの美術館、２つ目は革新的な遊び場、３つ目はスタジオ、最後はメーカースペース／クリエイティブラボである。オリオリは、待合室、バスルーム、廊下、カフェ、誕生日会ルーム、子どものための静音室といった共有エリアに加えて、８つの異なるギャラリーを開設する予定だ。

Translation: Yu FukaiThe interior design was made by Sneha Divias Atelier with the Japanese textile artist Toshiko Horiuchi MaCadam. Sneha Divias Atelier is a multiple award winning boutique interior architecture studio based in Dubai specializing in commercial, hospitality and residential projects. Toshiko MacAdam, the 77-year-old textile artist behind the breathtaking Toshi’s Nets playgrounds, has spent two years with her husband Charles creating a crocheted rainbow of nylon – tonnes of nylon – and turning her art into an interactive play space for children in Dubai.
OliOlis’ mission is to create a destination for children that commences as a medium in order to be happier, more creative, more imaginative, better informed, more inspired, more aware, more balanced, and more amazed. The space is a world-class for-profit play facility that optimizes these various objectives. OliOli is a concept inspired from the conflation of four things. The first one is children’s museums, the second innovative playgrounds, studios and last, maker spaces / creative labs. OliOli will be hold 8 different galleries, in addition to the common areas such as the reception, bathrooms, corridors, cafe, birthday party rooms, quiet room for kids, etc.
