It was once part of the residence of the grandfather of the current ruler of Dubai. These days it is known as ‘Heritage and Diving Village’ and has become a key tourist destination. The maze of Arabic buildings以前はドバイ現首長の祖父の住居の一部だった建物が、「ヘリテージ＆ダイビング・ビレッジ」として生まれ変わり、ドバイの観光名所となっている。迷路の様に建てられたアラビア風の建物や伝統的な自然の冷房、風の塔（建物の上部から突き出た塔）が過去の遺産となってしまったのは、そう遠い昔の話ではない。
かつて真珠の町であったドバイを再現するために、伝統工芸を今も受け継ぐ職人達がシンダガ地区の通りに軒を並べた。施設には、べドゥイン（アラビアの遊牧民）がテントを立て生活をしている様子や、兵器庫、バラスティと呼ばれる椰子の木で作った小屋、泥壁の家々、調理器具や伝統的なウェディングショーなどの展示を行っている。
その他の店では、伝統的な植物染めの衣類や真珠などの宝石を販売している。あらかじめ予約をしておけば、そこに宿泊することもできる。オープンテラスで食事を楽しんだり、ダウ（アラビアの伝統的木製船）が人や物資を運びながら入江を横切るのをぼーっと眺めるのも良い。夕日が海に沈む頃、ショーは始まる。地元の伝統的なディナーを村のレストランで味わいながら古典舞踊や音楽などのショーを夜通し楽しむ事ができる。
出会いと安らぎの場であるアルハディーラでは、コーヒーから始まるアラブの手厚いもてなしを堪能することができるだろう。

Traditional artisans have been invited to the cobbled streets of the Shindagha district to create the image of a traditional Emirati pearl diving village. The living museum includes a tented Bedouin village, an armoury, palm-frond shacks called barasti, mud houses, cooking utensils and traditional wedding shows.
Other shops sell traditional vegetable dye for clothes and pearl jewellery. Those who wish to stay overnight are warmly welcomed by owners of the traditional houses but booking in advance is essential.
There are open terraces where guests can dine, or simply gaze serenely across the creek at the wooden dhow boats ferrying people or goods. Just before sunset, the show begins. At the village restaurants, you can taste traditional food with entertainment of traditional dance and music shows throughout the evening.
At Al Hadeera, meeting or resting area, visitors will be served coffee and dates and enjoy Arabic hospitality.
