パイタイはドバイで最もロマンティックなレストランと言われるにふさわしいレストランだ。アブラ（湾岸地域の伝統的な木製の渡し舟）に乗って進んで行くと、目の前にこの５つ星レストランが現れるVoted as the most romantic restaurant in Dubai, Pai Thai certainly lives up to its billing. Visitors to this authentic five star restaurant arrive in style。
マディナ・ジュメイラからアル・カスルへと続く運河に沿った穏やかな光が夜の訪れと共にエキゾチックなムードを作りだしている。木製のバルコニーからは海に映る夜空を見渡すことができ、タイのミュージシャンによる静かな音楽が流れている。スパークリングワインを楽しみながら、このレストランで出される特製ミネラルウォーターが遠くノルウェーの山すそから取られた特別な地下水だというスタッフの話に耳を傾ける。
日が暮れるにつれてベランダのヒーターには灯がともり、女性のゲストの肩にはスタッフによってショールが掛けられる。レストランでは、すばらしい数々のワインやオリジナルカクテルを用意しており、中にはココナッツの殻に入ったものもある。フードメニューの中で最もおすすめなのはガーリックとブラックペッパーソースを使用した大きなクルマエビの揚げものと、驚くほど柔らかいカレー風味の和牛だ。デザートでは特に冷えたソイミルクにクリの実が入ったデザートが見逃せない。
２名の食事で650ディルハムになるものもあり、お手頃とは言い難い。しかし、このレストランのサービスや落ち着いた雰囲気は記念日のお祝いやハネムーンを楽しむ人には理想的なはずだ。

The gentle lighting along the canal as you travel from Madinat Jumeirah to Al Qasr sets the mood for an evening which follows suit. The wooden balcony overlooks the reflection of the night sky and the air is filled with the quiet music from a Thai musician. Guests are treated to a glass of sparkling Rose and staff give an account of how the water is bottled from the foothills of the Norwegian mountains.
As night falls, heaters around the veranda are lit and staff drape a shawl around the women’s shoulders. The restaurant boasts an impressive wine list and several original cocktails, including one served in a coconut shell. Best on the menu for food is gigantic deep fried tiger prawns in garlic and black pepper sauce, as well as the unbelievably tender wagyu beef in curry. For deserts, try water chestnuts in soy milk with crushed ice.
The restaurant isn’t cheap and a meal for two can sometimes cost up to 650 DHS. But the setting and tone of the restaurant make it an ideal haunt for those celebrating anniversaries and honeymoons.
