Youngest European fashion designer Silas Adler runs Copenhagen´s menswear Soulland. He is in the middle of his twenties. In 2008 he was nominated for best Danish up-and-coming designerコペンハーゲンのメンズウェアブランド、ソウルランドを展開している、まだ20代半ばの若手のファッションデザイナー、サイラス・アドラー。2008年に彼はデニッシュ・ファッション・アワードで最も新進気鋭のデンマーク人デザイナーに選出された。2002年にブランドを立ち上げてから、サイラスは、ヨーロッパとアメリカに進出し、世界中で認められるブランドとしての地位を確固とするための様々なステップを踏んできた。日本では東京のビームスでも取り扱いがある。彼はコペンハーゲンについて語る、最適任者の一人だろう。

ガールフレンド、友達、そしてソウルランドの同僚です。
あなたのオフィスのある場所について教えてください。
私達のオフィスはコペンハーゲンのフレゼリクスベアという所にあります。ここはまだあまり知られてはいませんが、どこに行くにもすぐ行ける素晴らしい場所です。上流階級と、地元の村の雰囲気と、昔ながらのコペンハーゲンがうまく混ざり合っているんです。そしてコペンハーゲンでナンバーワンのバー、「90’EREN」があります。ここでは今たくさんの事が起こっていて、また、私達の店を開く場所でもあるのです。
コペンハーゲンのミート・パッキング・ディストリクトは、近頃新しいバーやレストランが増えている場所のひとつだと思いますが、気に入っていますか？
ミート・パッキング・ディストリクトには素敵な場所がいくつもあり、いまだに興味深くて革新的な所です。この地域にはたくさんの可能性があり、地域の活性化のために積極的な人達の手によって、新鮮で、若いクリエイティブな人達の近づきやすい場所になることを願っています。
古いカールスバーグの工場がアートギャラリーやその地域に移り住む人達などにとても人気が出てきていると聞きますが？
その工場やギャラリーについて詳しく知りません。そこにはアートの展示やパーティでもない限り全く出かけないのです。年に一度、ディストーション・フェスティバルの会場になる時は大変素晴らしく、私はそこで数年前に展示をしました。
コペンハーゲンに旗艦店はありますか？
USインポートという１号店が数週間後にオープンします。この店ではソウルランドの商品を幅広く揃え、スティーヌ・ゴヤ、 バック・バイ・アンソフィー・バック、リバティーン・リバティーン、ペンドルトン、そしてその他にもたくさんの素敵なブランドを取り扱います。
読者に街のおすすめスポットを教えてください。
クリスティアーナにあるモルゲンスゥデットは美味しいオーガニックなベジタリアン料理のレストラン。タバコを吸ってくつろげます。
街の中心地にある湖は散歩するのにとっておきの場所です！

Since he founded the brand in 2002 Silas has worked and enjoyed different phases to establish himself with a brand that today is recognized worldwide and represented in leading stores across Europe and the USA. In addition Soulland is sold in Beams in Tokyo. He is one of the most appropriate individuals to let you know about Copenhagen. We did not want to miss the opportunity to talk about it.
What do you enjoy about living in Copenhagen?
My girlfriend, my friends, my Soulland crew…
Tell about the area where your office is located.
Our office in located in a part of Copenhagen called Frederiksberg, and it’s in a great location close to everything but still a bit secret. There’s an interesting mix of upscale Copenhagen, local village vibe and original Copenhagen. And it’s home to Copenhagen’s best bar, 90’eren. There are a lot of things happening here at the moment. This is also where we’ll be opening out store.
Meat-packing district in Copenhagen is perhaps one of the areas that has grown up lately with new bars and restaurants, etc. Do you like it there?
The meatpacking district has some good spots and it’s still interesting and innovative. The area has a lot of potential and I hope it will fall into the hands of people, who will do positive things for the area so it remains fresh and accessible to young, creative people.
I hear the old Carlsberg factory is becoming quite popular for art galleries and people moving there for living, etc. What could you tell me about it?
I haven’t really explored the factory or the galleries yet. It’s not really a place I hang out at unless there’s an art opening or a party. I did a show there a few years back and the Distortion festival does a great job there, when they use the grounds for their annual festival.
Do you have any flagship store in Copenhagen?
We are opening our first store in a couple of weeks under the name US Import. The store will have a wide range of Soulland but will also sell Stine Goya, Back by Ann-Sofie Back, Libertine-Libertine, Pendleton and a lot of other interesting brands.
Please tell us some tips about the city for our readers.
Morgenstedet in Christiania. They serve cheap and good food, you can smoke weed and relax. It’s also organic and vegetarian.
The lakes in the center of town are a really good spot for a walk!
90 bar. The best of the best!
U.S Import is no doubt the best new fashion store in Copenhagen selling girls and menswear from Scandinavia and abroad. A must.
