Educated at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, Henrik Vibskov explores different universes to place his creativity. He is used to show his collections within something elseセントラル・セントマーティンズで学んだヘンリック・ヴィブスコブは、彼のクリエイティビティをあらゆる世界で開花させている。これまでにひとひねりあるコレクションを展開させてきたヴィブスコブにとって大きなチャレンジの一つは、パリやニューヨークのショーに運ぶことが可能な十分強度のあるセットデザインをつくりことであり、他にも多彩なアイデアがヴィブスコブの世界観をつくりだした。一緒に仕事する人みなを大切に考え、それぞれが楽しんで仕事に取り組めるリラックスした仕事環境をつくるという、オープンな人柄でもある。
今回、ヴェスターブロにあるヴィブスコブのオフィスで会うこととなった。ヴェスターブロ通りの西の端にあるそのエリアは、コペンハーゲンを代表する中心街で、市庁舎や素敵なショッピング街が広がっている。
オフィスでは、スペインの「NEO2」マガジンに掲載するヴィブスコブ本人やコレクションのアイテムを写真家のクララ・Gが撮影していた。そして、そのトップフロアには、コンピュータールーム、１階にはワークショップスペースがあり、新しいやり方を探し、アイデアを練るなどの作業が日々繰り広げられている。そして世界中の様々な場所から、一日に３件のインターンの申し込みがあるという。
ストレスのないすごく特別な仕事環境ですね。
このスタジオの一日はとてもリラックスしています。自分が作業するにあたり親近感のある素敵な仕事環境というのが重要なんです。皆が友人であり、いい時間を過ごしてますよ。今こうやっていれるのも、それが理由かもしれないね。
素晴らしい仕事のスペースもありますよね。
パーティと火事が理由で前の場所は追い出されてしまってね。だからすぐに引っ越さなくてはならなくて見つけたこの場所は２フロアあり、１階に鉄工や木工、テキスタイルの作業場があり、２階はオフィス／ショールーム的な静かに作業できるスペースとなっています。
現在のチームにはどんな人が関わっていますか？
強力で実績のあるチームで、ロンドンで一緒に学んだデザインパートナーのマジャ、パターンと縫製のマスターのマリー、セールス担当のジェイコブ、リーダー的存在のスヴェン、グラフィクや写真を担当するアリなど、他にも多数います。
最近、コペンハーゲンにあるルネ・レセッピのレストラン「ノーマ」が世界のベストレストランとしてノミネートされましたが、食べにいきましたか？
ノーマには、一度だけインタビューで招かれていったことありますが、最終的には自分で支払いしなくてはならなくてね（笑）。
デンマーク料理で好きな食べ物は何ですか？
ライ麦パンのサンドイッチランチならどれも好きですね。あとは、デンマークの寿司とか？!
（コペンハーゲンを拠点に活躍する電子音楽プロデューサーの）トレントモラーと一緒にプレーをしてどれくらい経ちますか？
ライブだけですが５年ほどですね。
ファーストフードは食べますか？
もちろん、でもたまに。
この近所にある高級すぎない食事する場所は？
ここから道を渡った150メートル先左手にあるベトナム料理レストランの「Lêlê」がおすすめです。

Translation: Mariko Takei, a greater whole experience with a final twist. One of the big challenges for Henrik is build a set design strong enough but possible to carry with them when is time to show in Paris or New York, etc. Beetle-juiced-spirals, wooden structures, enlarged filaments, many different ideas are found in Henrik´s universe. He is a very open-minded person that creates a relaxed working environment where everyone is significant and makes people working with him to enjoy what they do.
We meet him at his office in the area of Vesterbro at the west end of Vesterbrogade, one of the main venues in Copenhagen which starts in the City Hall and goes until this area very famous by its good shopping.
Photographer Klara G shot him and as well a few collections from Henrik´s wardrobe. It was an editorial for the well-known Spanish magazine NEO2. The top floor of the office is computer-wise area and groundfloor is the workshop, always looking for new ways, experimenting with ideas and a great research labour. They received about 3 applications per day for internship from all parts of the world.
There is a very special environment, stress-free as much as work can permit it. We were playing football in the backyard.
A day at our studio is pretty relaxed. its important for me to work in a nice and familiar working environment. we’re friends and having a good time. maybe thats the reason why we still exist.
You have a great space for work.
I was kicked out off my old space cause of a party and a fire ,wooww so I had to move fast , when I found this place, I have 2 floors , groundflour is workshops, metal/wood and textile on the top flour is more silence and office showroom like.
Who currently is involved in your team?
It is a pretty strong and experienced team, MAJA my design partner I studied with in London, MARIE master of patterns and sewing, JACOB my sales person, SVEND my fugleman, ALI responsible for graphic and photos to name only a few…
Recently, René Redzepi´s Restaurant NOMA in Copenhagen have been nominated as the Best in the World. Did you go to eat there?
Yes once for a interview I was invited to NOMA but I had to pay my self in the end, aauuuvv.
Do you have any Danish favorite dish?
All Danish lunch sandwich with the dark ryebread – the danish sushi ??
How long have you been playing with Trentemøller?
For 5 years but only in the live set ups.
Do you eat Fast Food?
Jep, but random.
