The V1 Gallery first opened in 2002 and is situated near Copenhagen Central Station in the area known as Kodbyen (Meat District). It is focused on emerging and mid-career artists with an aim to introduce art to an international audience2002年にオープンしたV1ギャラリーは、コペンハーゲン中央駅に近接したミートパッキング地区に位置している。このギャラリーは海外からの観客に紹介することを目的とし、主に新進のアーティストや、中堅の現代アーティストの作品を取り扱っている。
ギャラリーはフリスケトルベット通りに位置し、近くにはクリスチャン·アンデルセン・ギャラリーやウエアハウス９がある。コペンハーゲン中央駅とコペンハーゲンを流れる大きな川からもギャラリーまで歩いて行ける距離。ギャラリー内はたくさんの窓から差し込む自然光と室内の照明で明るく照らされている。レセプションスペースの奥には、いくつかの広い展示スペースがあり、同時に２つの展覧会を行うことも可能だ。
ここではこれまでウェス・ラング、トロエルス・カールセン、カール・クルルなどの展覧会が開催されてきた。ギャラリーでの展覧会のオープニングなどを含む様々なイベントや作品の販売にも積極的で、国際的な展覧会へも参加している。
ミートパッキング地区は食肉産業の歴史のみならず、多くのギャラリーが進出してきたことで評判にもなっている、近年特に活気づいているエリア。散歩にもおすすめの綺麗な場所が多く、駅からもすぐのこのギャラリーにぜひ訪れてみてはいかがだろうか。

It is in the Flæsketorvet Street, nearby you can find Christian Andersen Gallery and Warehouse9. This location is literally only a few minutes walk from the central station as well as one of the main rivers that runs through Copenhagen. The gallery itself benefits from a lot of natural light through its many windows as well as being well lit inside as well. It has a reception area as well as several large spaces which allow two exhibitions to take place simultaneously.
Previous artists who have exhibited include, but are not limited to, Wes Lang, Troels Carlsen and Carl Krull. The gallery is also involved in exhibitions abroad as well as special welcome events for new exhibitions and sales of artwork.
The Kodbyen district is an up and coming area which not only benefits from its historical connection to the meat industry but also its more recently acquired reputation for housing art galleries. It is a lovely area for walking around, and as it is only a few minutes from the central station it is very convenient to visit.
