There are few theme shows in Buenos Aires and its history where you can go with the whole family. ‘Opera Pampa’ is one of them. The show is a theatrical and musical performanceブエノスアイレスの街や歴史を題材にし、なおかつ家族皆と観に行ける芝居は数少ないが、その中の一つが「オペラ・パンパ」である。ここで演じられる芝居の特徴は、演技と音楽のパフォーマンスを通してブエノスアイレスの歴史を知ることができる、ということである。
舞台上には50人もの俳優が上がり、スペイン人のアメリカ大陸への到着、原住民であるネイティブ・アメリカンとの衝突、ガウチョや彼らの伝統、総督が支配していた頃の労働者階級と少数独裁政治家たちなどの様々な歴史的瞬間を演じて見せてくれる。
ショー全体を通してまとまった物語なわけでもなく、場面毎に年代順に演じられているわけでもない。しかし、オペラ・パンパは視覚的にも観客を楽しませてくれる。俳優たちの衣装や上品さ、ダンスの腕は一流であり、観客たち自らに、登場人物たちが生きていた頃の姿はどういう風だったのか想像させてくれる。
また、閉幕後にはアルゼンチン特産の肉とワインの御馳走が提供され、優雅なひと時を楽しむことが出来る。
1910年に建てられた新古典主義のパビリオンは広さ3,000m2、様々なイベントやブエノスアイレス一の市場が開催されるラ・ルーラルに位置する。建物内は建築家グランベール、ドゥウェック、サントリウスによって設計され、また人気デザイナーであるディアナ・カベサによる、ユーカリの木などを使用した特注の家具が取り付けられ、ガウチョ達が健在していた時代にいるような気分にさせてくれる。
ブエノスアイレスでしか味わえないミュージカルを楽しみたいなら、是非オペラ・パンパを候補に入れてみてはいかがだろうか。

Translation: Yuki Mine that aims at telling the story of the early City of Buenos Aires. 50 actors on stage perform key historical moments: the Spaniards arrival in America, the clash with the Native American tribes inhabiting the territory at the time, the gauchos and their traditions, the working class and the oligarchy at the time of the Viceroyalty, etc.
Although there is no clear narrative or a clear chronological order in the succession of scenes, Opera Pampa is rich at a visual level. The actors’ clothing and their grace and ability for dancing help the spectators create their own sketch of what certain typical characters of the history of Buenos Aires looked like.
At the end of the show, a rich banquet of good Argentinean meat and wines is offered in a neoclassical pavilion of 3000 m2 build in 1910; on La Rural – where usually take place many events and most important fairs in Buenos Aires. It was redesigned by architects Grinberg, Dwek and Santorius and equipped with furniture made of eucalyptus and lapacho from Diana Cabeza , the designer of the moment, all made it especially to make feel the viewer like at the gauchos´s era.
If you want to enjoy a good musical with a Porteño touch, Opera Pampa may be an option to take into account.
