The Yacyretá-Apipé hydroelectric dam is a hydroelectric power station built in 1993 on the Yacyretá-Apipé waterfalls in the Paraná River, in the Argentineanヤシレタ水力発電ダムは1993年、アルゼンチンのコリエンテス州とパラグアイのミシオネス県に流れるパラナ川に建設された。ヤシレタはパラグアイの首都アスンシオンから南東に320km、アジョラス市地区の中にある。
この計画の目的は、電力を発電するだけではなく、さらに川を航行しやすくし、水位上昇による影響を和らげてアルゼンチン・パラグアイ両国へと川の水を引く事を可能にする、という内容も含まれている。
ダムは全長808m、全部で20あるタービンからは一時間に26億3,000万リットルもの水が流れ、年間19,000ギガワット時もの電力を生み出している。ダムに水が流れ込む様はまさに見物である。
さらに周辺には様々な観光客向けの施設や宿泊施設が集まっており、訪れた人々を飽きさせない。アジョラスにある博物館では発掘された古代の遺品や鉱石、その地に住み着いていた動物の模型などが展示されている。
さらにアジョラスから18km離れた動物保護センターでは、地域特有の植物や動物たちを見ることが出来る。この地区では、釣りが非常に大きな産業として成り立っており、数多くの釣堀が目に付く。
また、島の先端には自然保護区が設置されているが、一般者が入場できるエリアも用意されており、2.5kmの道のりを案内付きで歩きながら見学できる。
違った面からアルゼンチンの内側を知りたいのなら、この地区も一つ、候補に入れてみてはいかがだろうか。

Translation: Yuki Mine province of Corrientes and the Paraguayan department of Misiones. Yacyretá is 320 km to the southeast of Asunción and it is located in the area of the city of Ayolas.
The Project has the goal of producing electric energy; improving the conditions of navigability; softening the effects of rises in the level of the river and creating a potential for irrigation for both countries. The dam is 808 meters long and has 20 turbines through which 2,630 million litres of water can go per hour rendering it capable of producing 19,000 Gwh annually.
Contemplating the hydraulic movement of the dam is a show. In addition, the area has different tourist attractions: the Regional Yacyretá Museum located in Ayolas, where there are archaeological pieces, minerals and samples of the native fauna on display. Also, there is the Atinguy Animal Refuge, which is located 18 km from Ayolas and has several species of flora and fauna characteristic of the area. The fishing industry is very important in this region, therefore there are areas especially prepared for its practice.
Another interesting place to visit is the Nature Reservation located in an extreme of the island. In it, there is an open centre for visitors and a 2,500m path called ‘Acuti po’i’ along which you can take guided walks. There are different accommodation options in the area, such as the National Tourist Hotel and the Yacyretá Apart Hotel. If you are interested in getting to know the Argentine interior and its particularities, this area is a good choice to take into account.
