マタデロス露天市The Mataderos Fair
The Mataderos Fair is a fair located in the archway of the old market in the neighbourhood of Mataderos, in the city of Buenos Aires. The fair was opened in 1986 by Sara Vinocurcon – the current coordinatorブエノスアイレスのマタデロス地方近辺の旧市場のアーチ道で開催されるマタデロス・フェアは、1986年に現在のコーディネーター、サラ・ ヴィノカルコンによりアルゼンチンの文化的ルーツの生産と普及の場を作りたいという目的で始まった露天市。フェアでは300の露店が並び、地域の手製料理や毛布、ポンチョ、皮・銀製品など、ガウチョ手細工や手作り製品が販売される。
3月〜12月は、毎週日曜日午前11時から午後8時まで開催される。お勧めは少し早めに出掛けて露店を見て回った後、ガウチョの伝統的な馬術の技の披露や、フォークロアショーなどを見物しながら、美味しいロクロ（アンデス山脈地方で知られる濃厚で栄養豊富なシチュー）やエンパナーダ（パイの皮に詰め物をした物の種類）を試してみて欲しい。
ブエノスアイレスでは夏にあたる１月〜２月の間は、土曜日の夜６時から開かれる。職人が出展している露店を見て回り、マルメロの実のゼリーパイか、暖かいトルタフィタ（風味のある揚げパン）をマテ茶と共にいただき、馬術の披露を見物するか、アルゼンチンアーティスト達による彫刻や絵、写真の展示を楽しむ事ができる。また、ラテンアメリカの音楽やダンス響宴、祝賀カーニバル、年齢問わず誰でも楽しめるゲームが用意されたパーティーにも参加できる。それでも物足りない様だったら現代アルゼンチン映画の上映もある。フェアは夜中の１時まで開いているので、参加者にとって忘れられない体験となるだろう。
会場へはバスでアクセス可能。複数の路線があるので要注意。入場は無料。

The fair is arranged around 300 stalls which offer regional home-made food, gaucho handcrafts and handcrafted products such as blankets, ponchos, and leather or silver objects, among other things.
The fair is open every Sunday from March to December between 11am and 8pm, and it makes an ideal outing for family and friends. It is advisable to get there early, walk around the stalls and then try delicious locro (a hearty rich stew popular in the area of the Andes range) or empanadas (a kind of turn-over) while watching a folklore show, a carrera de sortija (a typical gaucho game) or a display of traditional gaucho skills. The joyful spirit of the fair is doubtless its main characteristic.
In the summer – January and February – the fair is open on Saturday night, and there is a slight change: the meeting time is 6pm and the idea is to walk around the craftsman stalls, have some maté with quince jelly pies or warm tortas fritas (fried savoury dough), peep at the carreras de sortija and traditional gaucho skills displays or enjoy the sculpture, painting and photograph exhibitions by Argentine artists. At the same time, you can enjoy the Latin American music and dance festival, celebrate Carnival, or take part in the fête with games for all ages. As if that weren’t enough, there is also a film season in which Argentine films from yesterday and today are broadcast. The fair is open until 1am, providing visitors with enough time to render this tour an unforgettable experience.
There are several bus lines going to the premises. Admission to the fair is free.
