There is something no foreigner should miss: Havanna alfajores. Havanna is one of the leading Argentine home-style pastry-making companies, and it was born in 1948 in the city of Mar del Plataブエノスアイレスに行ったら必ず食べてほしいのが、ハヴァナのアルフォーレス。 ハヴァナはホームメイド風のお菓子を作っているアルゼンチンの大手企業で、1948年にマルデルプラタ市で設立された。創業者であるデメトリオ・エリアデス、ルイス・スバラグリニ、ベンジャミン・シスターナのアイディアで、工場の中でお菓子を作っている様子がお客さんから見えるようになっている。
長年、ハヴァナのアルフォーレス（ドゥルセ・デ・レチェを挟んであるビスケットにチョコレートやココナッツをかけたアルゼンチンの伝統的なお菓子）とハヴァネッツ（ドゥルセ・デ・レチェにチョコレートをかけたお菓子）は、マルデルプラタ市に遊びに行った友達や家族に買ってきてもらわないと食べることができなかった。
会社は徐々に大きくなり、顧客も増えていった。やがてブエノスアイレスにも店舗をかまえるまでになり、今では市内に数多く出店している。街中では赤く点灯したハヴァナの看板をよく目にする。店の外観や内装は、ブラウン系で木造風、一部にグリーンを使っていて、暖かみのある雰囲気を醸し出している。店内には、クッキー、スイーツ、プディング、ドゥルセ・デ・レチェ、チョコレート、焼き菓子、アルフォーレスなどバラエティに富んだ商品が並んでいて、一緒においしいコーヒーも楽しむことができる。おなじみのアルゼンチン土産を買いに、ハヴァナに立ち寄ることを忘れないで。

Translation: Yuki Nakagawa. The finding of this delight was the idea of three partners Demetrio Elíades, Luis Sbaraglini y Benjamin Sisterna, who created a factory in which the public was able to observe the process of making the sweet products.
For many years it was customary to ask friends or relatives travelling to Mar del Plata for Havanna alfajores and Havanettes (small dulce de leche cones covered in chocolate).
Little by little, the company grew, and so did its clients. That is how Havanna expanded until it reached Buenos Aires, where nowadays there are several branches. There are many corners in the capital city in which the red lit sign of the brand can be spotted. Its shops are usually decorated in brown and wooden colour shades with touches of green, thus creating a warm atmosphere in which to enjoy the wide variety of its products – cookies, desserts, pudding, dulce de leche, chocolates, pastries, alfajores – and to drink a cup of good coffee. Do not forget to stop by one of the many shops of the brand to enjoy this typically Argentinean delight.
