The Italian brand Kakao, founded in the 19th century as a tearoom, chocolatier and ice-cream parlor has been brought to Argentina by Italian owners Giovanni Girardini Marco Amodeoイタリアでチョコレートやアイスクリームをメインにしたティールームを展開していた19世紀創業のブランド「カカオ」が、オーナーのマルコ・アモデオとジョヴァンニ・ジラルディーニによってアルゼンチンに到来。アルゼンチンで最も大きいイタリア人移民地だったロザリオ市に第一店舗を構えたあと2010年にブエノスアイレス唯一の店舗「アルカカオ」をレコレタにオープンした。
ブエノスアイレスの高級街レコレタ地区、近隣にはパークハイアット・ホテルやアルベアール・ホテルがある。重厚感たっぷりのヨーロッパ的外観と、トラディショナルでエレガントなインテリアが贅沢感を味わわさせてくれる。
イタリアスタイルのアイスクリームはアルカカオ一番の人気。アルゼンチンの新鮮なミルクとイタリアから輸入したへーゼルナッツやピスタチオ、そしてイタリアのトリノから直送されるチョコレートの上質な味わい、イタリアンジェラートスタイルのショーウィンドウ、全てが伝統と原産地へのこだわりを感じさせる。
日本、中国、インド、パキスタン原産の紅茶類は22種類にも及ぶ。一つ一つ理想的な温度と蒸らし時間が吟味されている。イタリア風のアペリティフとしてカクテル類も充実している。早起きして朝のブレックファーストメニューを楽しんだり、夕暮れ時から夜にかけて一杯カクテルを飲みにいくなど、様々な通い方ができる。

Text: Mami Goda. They opened their unique store in Buenos Aires in the Recoleta district in 2010 after setting up the first store in Argentina in the city of Rosario, which was the largest Italian immigrant destination in Argentina.
The Recoleta district of Buenos Aires is an upscale district where also Park Hyatt Hotel and Alvear Hotel are located. The European style’s rich appearance, and elegant and traditional tastes of its interior, helps you enjoy fully the sense of luxury in the traditional taste.
The ice cream is the most popular of Arkakao. We can feel their important commitment to the country of origin and to the Italian tradition from any details like their show windows, and some flavors such as fine chocolate from Turin and Italian pistachios and hazelnut, which is deliciously combined with the fresh milk of Argentina.
They have 22 varieties of tea imported from Japan, China, India and Pakistan. The infusion time and the temperature of each tea is examined one by one. They offer also some Italian-style cocktails as aperitif (alcoholic beverage served with meal to stimulate the appetite). With so many fine things to choose from, one can enjoy the breakfast menu in the morning as much as a cocktail at sunset till during the night.
