タンゴは、ブエノスアイレスを象徴する伝統文化。その紀元は18世紀、ヨーロッパからの移民達が港町ラ・ボカ地区で、日頃のフラストレーションを発散するためにTango is the quintessential symbol of the city of Buenos Aires. Born as a music for brothels,on 1800, but it gained popularity when the European immigrants荒々しく男同士で酒場で踊ったのが始まりと言われている。後に娼婦を相手に踊るようになり、男女で踊るタンゴの原型が出来ていく。当初は下品と批判されていたものの、次第にブエノスアイレスを中心に一般に広く浸透していった。1917年にはタンゴの歌もカルロス・ガルデルによって産声をあげた。アルゼンチンの国民的英雄として彼の墓（写真）にはいつも多くの人が花を手向けている。
現在タンゴは、旅行者にとって見逃せないアトラクションの１つになっている。
ダウンタウン地区でタンゴを楽しむには、歴史を感じさせる美しい古い建物にある、「Confitería Ideal（コンフィテリア・イデアル）」(Suipacha 384) がおすすめ。レッスンやショウ、美味しい食事も楽しめ、２階のミロンガ（ダンス場）は、映画「エヴィータ(1996)」や「タンゴ(1998)」の撮影に使用されたことでも有名だ。「El Beso（エル・ベソ）」(Riobamba 416) の料理もおすすめ。「Cafe Tortoni（カフェ・トルトーニ）」でも美味しい食事とタンゴのステージが楽しめる。
パレルモ地区の「La Viruta（ラ・ビルタ）」 (Armenia 1366) では、昼夜問わずレッスンを受けたり、ダンスを体験することができる。サンテルモ地区の「Torcuato Tasso（トルクァート・タッソ）」(Defensa 1575) では、火曜から土曜までショウを行っている。他にも、「Club Gricel（クラブ・グリセル）」(La Rioja 1180)、「Club Villa Malcom（クラブ・ヴィラ・マルコム）」(Av. Córdoba 5064)、「El Arranque（エル・アランケ）」(Bartolomé Mitre 1759) でもタンゴを楽しむことができる。

Carlos Gardel is the emblematic figure of the Tango history. Born in France on 1890, arrived in Buenos Aires two years after his birth. He was the creator of the tango-song genre. He began his career singing in bars and parties and he gave to the tango music a new concept to explore.
Nowadays, tango is a local language, something no foreigner visiting these lands would want to miss. Little by little, it found a key position in the social and cultural life of the city. Nowadays, tango is a local language, something no foreigner visiting these lands would want to miss.
In the downtown area a good place to enjoy tango is “Confitería Ideal” (Suipacha 384), a beautiful old building where there are lessons, shows, milonga and food, just like “El Beso” (Riobamba 416) where food is homemade. La Ideal is famous for the well known films that was filmed there: “Evita” (1996) directed by Oliver Stone, and “Tango” (1998) a documental about La ideal itself and the Tango´s phenomenon. Cafe Tortoni is also located in the downtown, there you can enjoy a good meal or watch to the Tango dancers doing their best. In the Palermo neighbourhood one can go dancing to “La Viruta” (Armenia 1366) – where there are tango lessons in the afternoon and at night with the possibility of staying after class, dancing. Club “Torcuato Tasso” (Defensa 1575), located in San Telmo, is a must. It maintains the original tango essence with Tuesday to Saturday shows – in general. The list of places to enjoy this culture is endless: “Club Gricel” (La Rioja 1180), “Club Villa Malcom” (Av. Córdoba 5064), “El Arranque” (Bartolomé Mitre 1759), etc.
Tango is a classic in Buenos Aires, which does not stop growing or being avant-garde and historical simultaneously. It is advisable to check the websites of the recommended places because their programme is changed every month. Do not miss Tango World if you are visiting Buenos Aires.
