Isabel is a restaurant-bar where everything has been planned for customers to feel fulfilled: its interior decoration, its food, its drinks, and its music have all been designed by expertsイザベルは、店内すべてが客の心を満たすようにつくられているレストラン・バー。インテリア、フード、ドリンク、音楽といったものはすべて、その道の専門家が手掛けている。始めに目に入るのは、大きなデザイン照明だ。まるでニューヨークのホイットニー美術館のように、天井全体が照明になっている。薄暗い照明とハイファイで聴く音楽は、店内の親密でゆったりとした空間を演出している。
メニューにも要注目だ。１ページ目には食事メニューが並び、東洋文化を取り入れているので寿司にもさまざまな種類が用意されている。例えば、「巻きイザベル」という寿司には、カニカマ、アボカド、フィラデルフィアチーズと、スモークサーモンまたはサーモン、レッドキャビアまたはブラックキャビアが入っている。残りのページはすべてドリンクメニューで、使用するグラスによって分類されている。その種類は、フルート（マイ・タイ：ジャマイカ・ラム、ホワイトキュラソー、シュガーシロップ、アーモンドシロップ、ライム、オレンジ）、ハイボール（プランターズ・パンチ：ゴールド・ラム、コアントロー、オレンジ、パイナップル、グレナディンシロップ、シュガーシロップ）、ショートボール（ゴッドファーザー：辛口シャンパン、ジン、レモン、角砂糖）、マティーニ（フレンチ75：シャンパン、ジン、レモン、角砂糖）など。さらに、ワインの品ぞろえも豊富でグラスでもボトルでも注文することができる。
イザベルの夜は10時半から始まる。2年間ずっと温めてきたコンセプトに従っていつもDJが盛り上げてくれるのだ。そのコンセプトは音楽の調和・折衷だ。イザベルの音楽を担当しているソレダード・ロドリゲス・スビエタは次のように言う。『いつの時代も変わらず人気の音楽は調和するんだ。例えば、ロキシー・ミュージックは、カット・コピーやザ・ローリング・ストーンズ、ホーリー・ゴーストとも完璧なライブをできる。』ブエノスアイレスの市民は若いけれど、ここには少し年配の人々がやってくる。みんなクールで陽気で生き生きしていて、同時に親友のようでもある。それは間違いなくイザベルの存在があるからなのだ。

Translation: Yuki Nakawgawa. The first impression is given by the huge design lamps – just like the ones in the Whitney Museum in New York – which cover the whole ceiling. Dim lighting and hi-fi sound complete the intimate and elegant atmosphere of Isabel.
The menu draws attention: on its first page there is a list of dishes, which flirt with the eastern culture – different varieties of Sushi – Makisabel: kanikama, avocado, Philadelphia cheese and smoked salmon or salmon with red or black caviar. The rest of the pages in the menu are dedicated to drinks, which have been classified according to the glass in which they are served: Flutes (Mai Tai: Jamaica Rum, Aged rum, triple sec, syrup, Orgeat, lime and orange), High Balls (Planter’s Punch: golden rum, Cointreau, orange, pinapple, grenadine, Syrup), Shortballs (Godfather: Champagne brut, gin and lemon, a sugar cube), Martinis (French 75: Champagne, gin, lemon, a sugar cube). In addition, there is a wide variety of wines, which can be ordered by the glass or the bottle.
The night at Isabel begins at 10:30 pm. There is usually a DJ livening up the evening by following a concept they have been developing for the past 2 years, seeking sound eclecticism: ‘all-time favourites with a sound conducting thread, where, for example, Roxy Music lives together perfectly with Cut Copy, or the Rolling Stones with Holy Ghost’ – says Soledad Rodríguez Zubieta, musical arranger in charge of Isabel’s musical concept. The public is generally young, although there are a few elder people who are just as cool – it must be a consequence of the energy at Isabel: cheerful, dynamic, and, at the same time, intimate.
