To picture life as a huge castle in which colours, shapes, animals, yoga, textures, music, the sky, cinema and art live together may help us understand what Pesqueira is about様々な色や形、動物、ヨガ、生地、音楽、空、映画、そして芸術が一つに集まった大きなお城を人生に例えて描いてみると、「ペスケイラ」の実体が少しは掴めるのではないだろうか。
2004年、長年ファッション業界で経験を持つヴァレリア・ペスケイラが一人で立ち上げたこのブランド。現在は魅力的な店が立ち並ぶパレルモのアルメニア通りに直営店を構え、さらに世界各国でコレクションが販売されている。主な顧客層は25～40歳の女性で、デザインの細部にまでこだわったものが好きな方ばかりだという。
デザイナーは、ブランドの本質について次のように語ってくれた。『私の作る服は日々着るごとに味が出るものです。一日中着ていたくなる様な、また触りたくなるような服です。だからこそ、素材となる生地などの品質には非常にこだわっています。服とは、着る人を優しく包んでくれて、かつ身に付けている人に素晴らしい時間を与えてくれるものであって欲しいと思っています。』
ユニークなプリントや珍しい色の組み合わせが特徴のドレス、Ｔシャツ、シャツ、パーカーなどの服はどれも明るさに溢れている。また小物類も充実しており、最近のコレクションの中で人気だったのは熊の顔の形をしたハンドバッグ（写真）。他にもプリント生地を使ったノートパソコンケースや、変わったものでは書き方練習帳まである。
ぺスケーラはさらに前進を続け、今年は日本進出も果たした。近々ユナイテッド・アローズには、特別にデザインされたコレクションが並ぶという。さらにブエノスアイレス現代美術館では子供達のための雑貨を扱うライン「エスクエラ」(日本語で”小学校”の意)の商品が販売される予定だという。

The project opened its doors in 2004 and all credit goes to Valeria Pesqueira, a fashion designer with a long career in the fashion market. The customers of the brand are women between 25 and 40 years old, who love details and design subtleties.
“Making clothes that can be worn day after day; clothes that you would like to live in, to feel. This is why the quality of the materials we use is so important to me. I want clothes to be items that caress you and make you live wonderful moments,” the fashion designer says, conveying the essence of the enterprise.
Unique prints and new colour shades applied to nice and cheerful clothes, such as dresses, T-shirts, shirts, parkas. In addition, there is a variety of accessories, such as handbags – the hit is one with the shape of a bear face (photo) – laptop covers – also printed – and even unconventional copybooks.
Pesqueira continues to grow and this year its garments will be arriving in Japan and soon an exclusive collection will be displayed in United Arrows. Moreover, in Buenos Aires, the MALBA store will receive ‘Escuela ™’, objects for kids and youngsters made by the brand.
Pesqueira store is located in Palermo, within the circuit that no curious tourist should miss.
