The Palermo Hollywood store of No Brand, located next to restaurant Olsen, calls the attention of passers-by in a few seconds. This is probably due to its façade, wallpapered in pale-blueオルセンの隣にオープンした「ノー・ブランド」のパレルモ・ハリウッド店は、オリジナル「アイコン」が施されたブルーのファサードがとても印象的。
『ノー・ブランドの75のアイコンは、アルゼンチンの個性、文化、歴史を表現しています。』と共同設立者の一人、グスタボ・ステッカーは話す。グスタボと共同設立者のもう一人であるエルナン・ベルディチェフスキーは、共にUBA（ブエノルアイレス大学）を卒業したグラフィックデザイナーで、「ImagenHB」のブランディングや著書「IDARG」の出版などを手がけている。
ノー・ブランドは、デザインやファッション、編集作業など様々なことに興味を持っている。その根底にあるのは、オブジェクトが何であり、何故そうなっているのか、その構造を理解しデザインをするということ。そしてそれをシンプルなアイコンとして表現するというのが彼らのスタイルだ。

‘We have created 75 icons that express our idiosyncrasy, our way of being, our culture, our history,’ Gustavo Stecher explains. He is co-founder of No Brand together with Hernán Berdichevsky. Both of them are graphic designers graduated from UBA (University of Buenos Aires), partners of branding ImagenHB and authors of the book IDARG, Identidad Argentina (Argentinean Identity), which contains the whole development of the icons and texts referring to them.
In No Brand an interesting variety of design objects, garments and editorial products can be found. The Mate (mate infusion drunk with a straw from a gourd), the cow, the empanadas (a kind of turn-over), the barbecue, and the bandoneón (a large accordion) are but a few of the icons this duo of designers has imprinted on the different objects they have created: napkin holders with the print of an empanada, cow-shaped key rings, espadrilles, aprons and T-shirts with prints.
‘We always try to design from the structure of the objects, their synthesis, what makes them be what they are. We try to make them iconic, very simple, beautiful and with plenty of identity,’ Gustavo states. In order to learn some more about the symbols that represent Argentina or simply to buy presents that combine design with an autochthonous sense, No Brand is the perfect place.
