Lupe is a brand that started small and is now the favourite of many stylish women. Its story begins in 2003 when, after having worked for several years as an assistant in fashion magazinesLupe（ルーペ）は創業当初こそ小さかったものの、今やスタイリッシュな女性のお気に入りブランドに成長した。グアダルーペ・ヴィラーは数年間ファッション誌のアシスタントとして働いた後、2003年、パレルモの20平方メートルほどのガレージに第１号店をオープンした。
彼女がファッションの道を選んだのは、彼女の家系では母と祖母がそれぞれ自身のブランドをもつオーナーだったことによる。『私たち一人ひとりの個性は、女性らしさと男性らしさ、プリティーとパンク、昼と夜など相反するモチーフを取り混ぜることで表現できる。このことを実感したいし、これがいつもデザインのモチベーション。相反するものは常に他方を引き立てるの！』
デザイナーによれば今、最も旬なアイテムはコットン・トラウザーだ。穿き心地がよく、シーンや用途に応じてフラット・シューズやブーツに合わせられるからである。2010年のウィンター・コレクションは男っぽいパリの女性がイメージされている。たくさんのシャツ、ダッフルコートにアンクルブーツ。色の主役はネイビーブルー、ブラック、ホワイト。それがヒョウ柄、ストライプ、ドット、レース、タータン柄にあらわれている。
ルーペのスタイルは現代に生きる女性を、エレガントであると同時にスポーティーで、さらに愛らしい女性に変身させてしまう。これがルーペのマジックだ。

Translation: Saori Hashiguchi, Guadalupe Villar opened her first store in a 20-square-metre garage in Palermo.
Her choice of fashion can be traced back to a family tradition that her grandmother and her mother built, having each been the owner of their own clothing brand. ‘The motivation for design is always to feel that the personality of each one of us can be wholly expressed by means of the mixture of the garments, with the contradiction between feminine and masculine, preppy and punk, night and day… opposites are always attracting one another!’
According to the designer, the wild cards nowadays are cotton trousers, because they are comfortable and can be combined with flat shoes or boots, depending on the occasion.
In 2010 winter collection has a Parisian hallmark, with masculine touches: plenty of shirts, duffle coats, and ankle boots: as regards colour shades, the main characters are navy blue, black and white, although colours appear in several prints: leopard, stripes, polka dots, lace, tartan, etc.
The magic of Lupe’s style is to give modern women the opportunity to be elegant, sporty and daring at the same time.
