Purr Libros is a pretty little place situated in an old Buenos Aires building. This building, which was once a school, is now a place filled with art galleries, studios, some coffee shop and design storesブエノスアイレスの中心部、バリオ・ノルテにオープンした「プル・リブロ」。かつて学校だった歴史ある建物に位置し、ここにはギャラリーやスタジオ、カフェなど様々な店が入居している。プル・リブロのオーナーは、詩人で写真家のマリア・アレッシオ。彼女は隣接するミテ・ギャラリーも運営している。
プル・リブロが他の書店と違うのは、世界中から取り寄せた希少価値の高いアート、デザイン、イラストレーション、写真関連書籍を取り揃えていること。また、厳選された雑誌やジーンなどのセレクションも人気だ。さらにすべて手に取って中身を見ることもできる。
中庭では、DJや本の朗読会などのイベントも行われている。ここではジャンルを超え様々なスタイルがクロスオーバーする、ポルテーニョにとってユニークで特別な場所になっているのだ。

What’s different about Purr is that we can find the most rare books about art, design, illustration and photography from around the world. And what’s more important, we can touch and peep at everything as if we were in our own houses.
Purr claims to be unique because they focus especially in the selection of the material. They choose every book or fanzine by the quality of its content and they always intend to bring things from other parts of the world, things that don’t usually come to Latin America. That’s why they say Purr is a “consciously curated” art bookstore.
In the bookstore, they also have other activities such as readings and DJ sets. We could say they also combine all sorts of styles, from hand draw books to special editions and rare collectors issues.
Their public is rather young and somewhat alternative, a heritage of Belleza y Felicidad (Happiness and Beauty), a gallery that pursued some of the goals Purr has now.
