Jardin Luminoso means in Spanish “Illuminated Garden”. Lucila&Veronica Malenky and Ariel Villarreal got together and created this art gallery to offer an infinite view of artスペイン語で“日の差す庭”を意味する「ハルディン・ルミノソ」は、2006年にルシラ＆ヴェロニカ・マレンキー姉妹とアリエル・ヴィジャレアルがアートの無限の可能性を紹介する場として創設したギャラリー。
国内外の著名作家から新進気鋭の若手アーティストまで、幅広く取り扱っている。ほぼ月に１度のペースで開催される企画展は毎回異なるテーマを中心に複数の作家作品が展示される。作品のジャンルも、絵画、デッサン、写真、彫刻、インススタレーションと様々。
たとえば2009年9月に開催されたエキシビションでは「生物学」をテーマに、アーティストが様々な素材、方法で生物の多種多様性を表現した。植物、動物、細菌などの生態系が絵具、紙、金属、光、セラミックなどによって再現され、多くの観客を驚かせ話題を呼んだ。
他にも、過去展覧会には、小説家ホルエ・ルイス・ボルヘスの短編「バベルの図書館」を主題にしたものや、「鳥」をテーマにしたもの、「幾何学的抽象」のセレクションなど、常に新しいテーマに挑戦し市民の注目を得ている。
毎回展覧会のオープニングにはエル・サルバドル通りの歩道まで人が溢れるほどの賑わいを見せている。こじんまりとしたギャラリースペースだが、ターコイズグリーンの外観が常に人目を引き、中に入れば素敵な姉妹が快く対応してくれる、とてもアットホームなスペースだ。

They gather not only renowned artists but also young emerging artists. Each temporary exhibition organized every month shows works of different artists around a specific theme. The genre of works is also diverse: paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures, installations, etc.
In September 2009 they had an exhibition called “Biology” where the artists depicted biodiversity by using various materials and by diverse ways. The biogenosis such as plants, animals, bacteria, are represented by paints, papers, metal, light, ceramics, etc.
For instance there was an exhibition about Jorge Luis Borges’ “The Library of Babel”, another about “Birds” and one about “geometric abstraction”. The gallery is always trying to push the limits and surprise people.
Every where fully alive with people all over the street. The turquoise green aspect of the gallery attracts people to enter into the cozy space where you are always welcomed by two sweet sisters.
