In the begining, there was the kimono. For over 20 years, in Tokyo, New York and London, a young Austrian couple, Ursula and Martin Bremはじめに「着物」があった。20年もの間東京で、ニューヨークで、そしてロンドンで若いオーストリア人夫婦、ウルスラ・ブレムとマーティン・ブレムはアンティークの着物を収集し、その絹のデザイン、二つとして同じもののない古くから現代につながるアートの世界に没頭してきた。
SAI SOとは「復元」、「再び繋ぎ合わせること」を意味する。ウルスラは着物を切って繋ぎ合わせ、全く別の素晴らしいものを作り上げることで着物の可能性はもっと広がると確信した。これがSAI SOの誕生である。
その後短くしてウルスラはこの世を去った。現在はベルリンを拠点とする夫マーティンはウルスラの思い出と彼女の作品の美しさにインスパイアされて、SAI SOを洋服とインテリア、香りと音を作り出すブランドに成長させた。
マリン・ブレムは活気溢れる首都の中心、ベルリンのトアシュトラッセにSAI SOアトリエ＆ショールームを建て、2004年にはアンドレアス・ジーニッケがチーフデザイナーとして参加。
アンドレアスもまた着物の美しさと可能性に魅せられた者のひとりであった。彼は日本のデザインの核となる部分を取り入れ、彼自身のデザインへと紡ぎ込んだ。
一方で、「SAI SOの道」は広がり続けた。SAI SOインテリアとSAI SOセンツ（香り）は「復元」というコンセプトを更なる高みへと押し上げた。
フィルメンやベルリンの職人ウルリッヒ・ウェルターなどデザイン・パートナー達は、照明やハンドプリントの壁紙といった新しい作品をインテリア分野に加えた。SAI SOセンツは2006年後半に初となる香水を発表予定である。

SAI SO means “reconstructed”, “put together again”. When Ursula felt ready to extend the possibilities of the kimono, to cut into the silks to make something new and just as brilliant, SAI SO was born.
Suddenly, shorty after, Ursla died. Martin, now based in Berlin and inspired by the memory of Ursula and by the beauty of her work, has developed SAI SO to become a creator of clothes, interiors, scents and sounds.
Marin Brem set up the SAI SO Atelier & showroom in Torstrasse, Berlin, in the buzzing centre of the new capital. Head of Design Andreas Jeenicke joined SAI SO in 2004. Also enraptured by the beauty and the possibilities of the kimono, Andreas has taken essential elements of Japanese design and meshed them with his own design vocabulary.
Meanwhile, the “Way of SAI SO” has broadened. SAI SO INTERIORS and SAI SO SCENTS take the concept of “re-construction” to new levels.
Design-Pertners such as Filumen or the Berlin artisan Ulrich Welter have added new products the INTERIORS portfolis, including lighting objects and a series of handprinted wallpapers. SAI SO SCENTS is scheduled to launch its first perfume late 2006.
