グリル・ロイヤルはミッテ区にあるアート志向のレストラン。シュプレー川沿い、フリードリッヒストラッセの地下鉄駅のすぐそばにあるGrill Royal is a newly opened state-of-the-art restaurant in Berlin Mitte located alongside the River Spree a stonethrow off Friedrichstrasse U-bahn station. The Grill, as it is nickname goes, has a cooperation with the popular Berlin-gallery “Neu” to bring together art, dining and the in-crowd of Berlin.
As the name implies, Grill Royal attempts to glorify the simple. Sitting in the restaurant one cosumes a particular “galerie-de-rue” voyeurism not due to the exhibited meats in glass cabinets, but because it is the place to be seen and to observe.
It’s the most known almost-celebrity restaurant of Berlin though real glamour in Berlin often is absent. After a chaotic start the restaurant has paced to imply a qualitative kitchen without being grandiose.
Led by Chef Florian Glauert the kitchen has taken inspiration in the simple kitchen of the grand hotels and European tradition. Focus is mainly steak & fish, oysters, lobster and garniture. The wine card is decent without being overwhelming.
Recommendable is for meat eaters the grilled Argentinean steaks (15/28 EUR) and for vegetarians the risotto (12 EUR) and the grill salad (13/16 EUR). The service is competent, friendly and the pricelevels fair in relation to the quality (starters 7-18 ER, main 15-39 EUR, desert 5-12 EUR).
Grill Royal is one of the only possibilities for an international, well designed gastronomic experience from interior to the food in Berlin.

店の名を見ればわかるように、グリル・ロイヤルはシンプルさを追求する。店内に腰を下ろすと、まるで通りのギャラリーをのぞき見ているような気分になる。ガラス棚に透ける食肉のせいばかりではなく、店全体が見せるためのつくりになっているからである。
絶世の美女が頻繁に来店するというわけではないにせよ、ここはベルリン市でもっともよく知られたセレブなレストランだ。試行錯誤を経て、このレストランは大げさになることなく上質な料理を提供する店になった。
シェフ、フロリアン・グロワートが提唱するのはホテルやヨーロッパの伝統に基づいたシンプルなスタイル。主にステーキや魚、牡蠣、ロブスターにサイドディッシュがメニューの基本。ワインリストも質が高く品がよい。
肉類の好きな人にはアルゼンチン風グリルステーキ(15/28ユーロ)、ベジタリアンにはリゾット(12ユーロ)やグリルサラダ(13/16ユーロ)がおすすめ。接客はレベルが高くかつフレンドリーだ。価格も質の高さからいえば比較的リーズナブルである(スターター7〜18ユーロ、メイン15〜39ユーロ、デザート5〜12ユーロ)。
グリル・ロイヤルはそのインテリアから料理に至るまで細やかにデザインされた、ベルリンでも有数の美食体験を堪能できる国際的なレストランなのだ。
