Known for his chair designs such as Tongue in Cheek and Smile, Peter Harvey opened his own showroom and gallery “PHL Gallery” in 2009 in Mitte, Berlin「Tongue in Cheek」や「Smile」チェアで有名なイギリスの家具デザイナー、ピーター・ハーヴェイによるギャラリー。ハーヴェイは、イギリスの有名高級百貨店ハロッズのウィンドウディズプレーのビジュアル・マーチャンダイジングを担当し、「20世紀のデザイナー／アーティストによるチェアエキシビション」をキュレートするなど、デザインへの情熱を向ける傍ら、自らも家具のデザインを手がけ、1991年に自身のデザイン会社「Peter Harvey Ltd」を設立。2007年には拠点をロンドンからベルリンへ移す。
2009年4月にベルリン・ミッテ地区にオープンしたPHLギャラリーは、ピーター・ハーヴェイのコレクションを展示するショールームであると共に、世界中の現代「デザイン・アート」をテーマとした展覧会を開催し、ベルリンで毎年開催されるデザインフェスティバル「DMYフェスティバル」に参加するなど、今後は「デザイン・アート」のプラットフォームとして新しいアイデアや作品を紹介していく。

Starting of his career working for Harrods window visuals, Harvey worked on curating the 20th Century Designer/Artist Chair Exhibition among other art/design projects. And he himself also started to design furniture, and later he established his own design company Peter Harvey Ltd in 1991.
PHL Gallery showcases his design collection of ‘Design Art’ as well as launches exhibitions of contemporary international ‘Design Art’ such as participating in DMY Intenational Design Festival Berlin, as a platform to introduce new ideas and works of Desgin Art.
