Walking through the streets of Amsterdam is always a surprise. You can find exquisite places, where magic is still alive. Just a few blocks from the Central Station, in the busy Harlemmerstraat, a glass window call your attention: Het Grote Avontuurアムステルダムの通りを歩くといつも驚きがあり、魔法にかかったような素晴らしい場所がみつかる。アムステルダム中央駅からほんの数ブロックの忙しいハールレンメル通りで、とあるショーウィンドウが目を引く。特別な人への特別なものが集まった楽しい場所「ヘット・グロート・ エイヴォントゥール」だ。
このプロジェクトを動かしている想像力のある人はアンナ・ マッシー。インテリア・スタイリングの勉強、そしてショーウィンドウの装飾の仕事した後、25歳でこの店を開いた。彼女はコレクターであり、昔の車、衣類、見捨てられた家、写真などビンテージや様々な古い物が好きだ。『私は古い物が大好きです。なので私の店には刺激的な感覚と蘇ったビンテージが沢山あります。この情熱は私の人生の中にいつもありました』。
彼女がこの店を開いて18年となる。店の名前はフランスの本のタイトルのオランダ語訳で「Le grand Meaulnes」（モーヌの大将）は20世紀初頭のフランスの田舎での冒険を描く小説だ。アンナの店も本物の冒険好きな雰囲気と、上品さや驚きが店内を歩くごとに展開される。
様々な物があるが、その中のほとんどがフランスとベルギーのビンテージと古物、世界中からの手作りの製品、そして更にスズ製品、フランスの学校のポスター、地図、古い皿、怪しげで珍しい物、ビンテージの壁紙、布地など特別なビンテージ品だ。
アンナの店の最新グッズは、モロッコのリサイクルガラスやデンマークの箱（バンガロー／ハウス・ドクター）、ノート、方眼紙、包装紙など素晴らしい紙製品、様々なクッションなどがある。

The creative person behind the project is Anna Massee who opened the shop at the age of 25, after did window dressing-decorating and interior styling educations. She is a collector and loves vintage, and all kinds of old things – old time cars, dresses, abandoned houses, pictures, etc. “I love all kinds of old things, So in my store there is a ‘hype’ and revival of Vintage feeling and Vintage things, I have had this passion all my life.”
It has been 18 years since she opened Het Grote Avontuur. The name is the Dutch translation from the title of a French book: “Le grand Meaulnes” , a novel about an adventure in the early beggining of the 20th century, at the French countryside. Her store has a real adventurous spirit, a world of delicacy and surprise is unfolded at every single step you make there.
The variety of products include several things but mostly vintage and brocante from France and Belgium, self made products from all over the world and also special vintage stuff like tins, French schoolposters, maps, old plates, strange curious things, vintage wallpapers, vintage fabrics and much more.
The most recently incorporated stuff you can find at her place is: recycled glasses from Maroc, boxes from Denmark (Bungalow/House Doctor), nice paperstuff like notebooks, graphic paper, wrapping papers, different cushions, etc.
So, if you are looking for exceptional gifts, things for your house, small furniture, or unexpected things, don’t hesitate in take a look at this paradise of good taste and treasures from another eras.
