The river area of Amsterdam, close to the Central Station, is where many important cultural places are located. The recently inaugurated Eye Film Museum, Openbare Bibliotheekアムステルダム・セントラルステーションの近く、アムステルダムの川沿いの地区にはオープンしたばかりのアイ・フィルム・ミュージアム、アムステルダム図書館、ネモ科学技術博物館など、見所の文化施設がたくさん密集している。アムステルダムのコンサートホールであるミュジークヘボウも同じエリア、しかも川のすぐそばに位置している。
建物はデンマークの建築家「3XN」によるデザイン。その卓越したスタイルで数々のオランダ内外の建築賞を受賞している。到着するとすぐに目に入るガラスの正面は、建物の中に入ったあとも強いインパクトを残すことになる。音楽や展示を楽しみながら、外の景色をみつめることで、ここでの思い出が忘れられないものになるだろう。
21世紀を代表するコンサートホールであるミュジークヘボウがオープンしたのは2005年の春。ここのプログラムは、エキサイティングかつ現代的。常に少しずつ違った新しい時代やスタイル、文化や芸術形式を取り入れ続けている。クラシックのコンサートに限らず、特別企画やフェスティバル、マルチメディアコンサートや展示会など、その幅広さがプログラムの発展性を体現している。最新のイベント情報はぜひオンラインでチェックしてみてほしい。
多機能の音楽ホールにはたくさんのスペースがある。中でも最も大きいホールは725席ものキャパシティがある。１階には「ザウトハーフェン」というカフェレストランがあり、ランチからディナーまで楽しむことができる。コンサート前に腹ごしらえをする音楽好きたちに人気の場所だ。ザウトハーフェンには水辺のオープンエアー席があり、そこからはエイ(IJ)湖を見晴らすことができる。食事は各種アラカルトや３種類のコースを用意。ショーのあとはみな空腹になるので、事前の予約がおすすめ。夏場は様々なイベントが行われるテラスに立ち寄ってみるのもよいだろう。

The building was designed by the Danish architects 3XN and has won various Dutch and international architectural prizes, probably because of its unbelievable style. The astonishing glass facade you see when you arrive is one of the key feelings one might experience once inside the building: the possibility of contemplating the outside while enjoying the music exhibits makes the visit an unforgettable experience.
The Concert Hall of the 21st Century
The Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ opened its doors to the public in the spring of 2005. The programme is both exciting and contemporary and continually forges links with other eras, styles, cultures and art forms. Not only the classical concerts can be found its current musical developments in the form of special series, festivals, multimedia concerts and exhibitions are also part of the programme. Check their agenda online to be aware of the upcoming events.
The multifunctional state of the art chamber music hall, has different spaces but their bigger one has room for 725 seatings and on the ground floor you have the nice Cafe restaurant Zouthaven. It is open to the public and serves lunches and dinners. It is popular with many music lovers who come to enjoy a meal before the concert. Zouthaven has a waterfront open-air seating area and superb views across the river IJ.
For diners Zouthaven has an à la carte menu and a three-course concert menu. It is wise to make a reservation as it seems everybody tend to be hungry after the shows. In the summer, it is worth to visit the Muziekgebouw terrace, where many events happen.
